Helper Rate: $17per hour
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate helper to support a client with advanced dementia who is wheelchair-bound and bed-bound. The client weighs approximately 100 lbs (5'0") and requires hands-on personal care, including wound care and repositioning.
Care Responsibilities
- Provide morning and evening personal care (changing, cleaning; keep pull-ups off as instructed)
- Perform wound care and apply prescribed creams
- Assist with repositioning to prevent bed sores
- Support transfers (bed ↔ wheelchair) using proper techniques
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Provide shower assistance (with shower chair if needed)
- Ensure comfort, dignity, and safety at all times
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- Morning: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM (2 hours, possibly longer)
- Evening: 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM (1.5 hours)
Ideal Candidate
- Experience with advanced dementia care
- Skilled in wound care and skin integrity management
- Comfortable with transfers and bed-bound care
- Patient, attentive, and compassionate
- Physically capable of assisting with repositioning and mobility
This role is best suited for a helper with strong hands-on care experience, particularly in bed-bound care and wound management, who can provide consistent, gentle, and attentive support.
