Helper Rate: $$16.66 per hour
Our client is a 76-year-old woman with an Alzheimer’s diagnosis. She remains fairly independent and is able to manage her personal care and use the bathroom on her own, with occasional accidents.
Her family member works from home and is usually present, but they are looking for a compassionate helper who can stay with Mom when the family needs to step out. The primary goal is to provide companionship, supervision, and engagement in a comfortable home environment.
Care Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and supervision
- Engage Mom in conversation and simple activities
- Help keep her comfortable and safely occupied
- Prepare or assist with snacks and meals
- Encourage eating and hydration
- Provide gentle reminders and reassurance as needed
- Help maintain a calm and positive environment
- Keep an eye on her while family members are away
Every other weekend, with flexibility for either:
- Friday & Saturday, or
- Saturday & Sunday
- 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Ideal Candidate
- Experience with Alzheimer’s or dementia care is a plus
- Patient, friendly, and compassionate
- Comfortable providing companionship and supervision
- Reliable and attentive
- Able to engage the client in appropriate activities and conversation
- Comfortable around two small Yorkies in the home
This role is best suited for a patient, engaging, and compassionate helper who enjoys providing companionship and gentle supervision. The ideal helper will help Mom feel comfortable and secure while keeping her engaged, supported, and safely occupied when her family needs to step out.
