Role Summary:
The Senior Accountant will oversee day-to-day accounting functions and ensure accurate financial reporting for Heven AeroTech. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both detailed accounting work and broader process improvement—balancing financial rigor with a practical understanding of manufacturing operations.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Prepare transactions (general ledger, bank transactions, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, inventory, fixed assets, and cost accounting.)
- Create/post recurring and ad hoc journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expense amortization, depreciation, and inventory-related entries.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and fixed asset schedules.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, and overhead, to support pricing and profitability decisions, and margin analysis.
- Monitor and validate inventory balances, production variances, and material movements.
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to ensure accurate cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) reporting.
- Assist annual and periodic physical inventory counts and reconciliations.
- Maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
- Support the annual audit process.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Minimum 3–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- U.S. Citizen.
Preferred:
- Manufacturing or cost accounting experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, including speaking, hearing, and understanding verbal and written information.
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching, particularly when interacting with operations or inventory areas.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 15–20 pounds occasionally (e.g., files, office supplies, or inventory samples).
- Visual acuity sufficient to review detailed financial data, spreadsheets, and reports on a computer screen.
- Ability to move between office and manufacturing/warehouse environments as needed, which may include exposure to moderate noise levels and varying temperatures.
- Ability to participate in periodic physical inventory counts, which may require extended periods of standing or walking.
