Role Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring seamless material flow, assembly line support, and logistical coordination in support of UAS manufacturing operations. This role ensures materials and subassemblies are efficiently staged and delivered to the assembly line in alignment with production schedules, safeguarding production uptime and operational flow. 

Essential Responsibilities:  

  • Coordinate the timely movement of materials and subassemblies from storage to the assembly line. 
  • Ensure materials arrive at the correct workstation just in time for scheduled tasks.
  • Collaborate with assembly teams to anticipate material needs and adjust flow as priorities shift.
  • Monitor production schedules and demand signals from the production team
  • Ensure material staging aligns with production milestones and assembly line needs.
  • Identify potential bottlenecks in material flow and escalate proactively.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and purchasing teams to align inbound deliveries with production needs.
  • Track material receipts and confirm deliveries against schedule.
  • Communicate shortages, delays, and risks to the production team and adjust staging plans accordingly.
  • Act as the liaison between logistics and assembly teams, ensuring the assembly line is never starved of materials.
  • Monitor staging areas for accuracy and cleanliness to avoid assembly delays.
  • Track critical consumable levels (carbon fiber, adhesives, etc.) and report risks.
  • Ensure reorder plans are in place by coordinating with logistics and procurement teams.
  • Monitor logistics costs related to storage, transport, and staging.
  • Identify risks in material flow (capacity bottlenecks, delays) and escalate to leadership for mitigation 

Qualifications & Experience:
Required: 

  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or production coordination within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience coordinating material flow on a production line.
  • Experience collaborating with production teams and ensuring timely deliveries.
  • Proficiency with ERP or logistics planning tools.
  • Ability to analyze production needs and adjust logistics accordingly. 

Preferred: 

  • Experience in aerospace, UAS, or regulated manufacturing.
  • Experience working in fast-paced production ramp environments.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and just-in-time principles.
  • Experience in coordinating critical consumables in a production setting. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and occasional kneeling to access materials and staging areas.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of items or subassemblies up to 50 lbs; pushing and pulling carts or bins.
  • Ability to navigate production and assembly areas safely while complying with PPE requirements.
  • Adequate vision and hearing to read screens, labels, documents, and communicate with team members.
  • Fine motor skills for typing, scanning, handling small parts, and managing inventory.
  • Visual inspection of materials for accuracy, quantity, and condition.
  • Quick and safe movement to respond to material shortages, staging adjustments, or production needs.
  • Awareness of workplace hazards and ability to follow established safety procedures.
