Role Summary:
he Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end purchasing process to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role supports operational success by sourcing suppliers, negotiating terms, and overseeing orders through delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and send Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to suppliers
- Evaluate supplier quotes and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
- Issue and manage purchase orders in accordance with company policies
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and reliability
- Track and follow up on orders to ensure on-time delivery
- Resolve any issues related to delays, discrepancies, or quality concerns
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand purchasing needs and priorities
- Must be willing to work out of the Sterling, Virginia office a few days per week until the Winchester office is open
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in procurement systems or ERP software preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with multiple vendors and managing supplier relationships
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple orders simultaneously
- Analytical mindset with a focus on cost optimization and efficiency
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and operating standard office equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via video conferencing
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching within an office or warehouse environment
- Ability to lift and/or move light items (up to 10–15 lbs) such as files, packages, or office supplies as needed
- Visual acuity to review documents, spreadsheets, and procurement systems on computer screens
- Ability to focus for extended periods while performing detailed, repetitive administrative tasks
- Occasional travel to supplier sites, warehouses, or internal facilities may be required
