JOB SUMMARY

HexArmor is seeking a Compliance Manager to lead the development, management, and execution of our compliance strategy. This new position will ensure our organization(s) adheres to legal and regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies by developing and implementing compliance programs, conducting audits, and training department stakeholders.

As the Compliance Manager, you will partner with the Sustainability Program Manager to define and execute projects, initiatives, and resources to achieve our sustainability goals. This role involves managing, measuring, and tracking key initiatives, along with regular reporting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—operations, finance, marketing, product management—and work directly with suppliers, sales teams, and global accounts to deliver sustainability solutions to our distributors and customers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and implementing compliance programs, including creating and maintaining policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Outlining objectives, KPIs, operating procedures, and processes to align the organization
  • Staying up to date on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Identifying and addressing company compliance risks
  • Conducting regular audits and assessments to evaluate company status
  • Monitoring compliance with regulations and internal policies
  • Developing and delivering training programs for employees, working and empowering product development and management individuals
  • Work with Product Development and Product Management to ensure Sustainability characteristics are included in future products and services – Work with Product Development and Product Management to ensure Sustainability characteristics are communicated in compliance with global regulation.
  • Communicating compliance information to all levels of the organization
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of compliance activities

 

COMPLIANCE AREAS (PRODUCT, SUSTAINABILITY, SUPPLY CHAIN)

 

A list of relevant areas based on our business, but not limited to the following:

 

  • Product Safety, Performance Standards, OSHA PPE Mandates, ANSI ISEA, ASTM, NFPA, etc.
  • Product Markings, conformity and declarations
  • Consumer Labeling (FTC, specifically green guides making sure claims made are in-line with legal sustainability laws to avoid greenwashing litigation, CPLA-Canada, OSHA, TFPIA-US labeling laws, ECGT)
  • Chemical Safety (TSCA, Proposition 65, SVHC/REACH)
  • OEKO-TEX 100 Certification
  • GRS / RCS – Global Recycled Standard / Recycled Claim Standard
  • USDA - Bio based product labeling claims and certification
  • Environmental, Circular both upstream and downstream (EPA, CAA/CWP – clean air act, clean water act, eyes on the RCRA act)
  • EUDR (European Union Deforestation Regulation)
  • Customs (CBP)
  • CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism)
  • EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility)
  • FDA
  • Ethical sourcing

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

 Bachelor’s Degree: a degree in Business, Science, Environmental, or Sustainability

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-plus years’ experience in a compliance related position
    • Preferred: related industry experience (working knowledge of corporate environmental, social, and governance programs)
  • Experience in project management-related activities
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% plus, including both domestic and international travel
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

  • Highly motivated, self-directed, organized, and customer service oriented
  • Strong organization, planning, and project management skills

 

Compensation 

  • Competitive Market Salary plus 10% bonus
