Veterinary Referral Coordinator
Salary: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
Schedule: Full-time, Tuesday–Saturday. Hospital Hours: Monday–Thursday 9 AM–7 PM, Friday 9 AM–5 PM, Saturday 9 AM–4 PM, Sunday 9 AM–3 PM.
Hudson Highlands Veterinary Medical Group is hiring a full-time Referral Coordinator. The Referral Coordinator is responsible for managing the referral process between general veterinary practices and specialty or emergency clinics. This role serves as a liaison between referring veterinarians, clients, and specialists, ensuring seamless communication and coordinated patient care. The Referral Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining strong relationships with referring clinics, scheduling appointments, and ensuring a timely, accurate flow of information between all parties. This team member also supports our general practice clients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring every client and patient experience reflects the hospital’s high standards of care.

Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, doctors, and referring practices.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when handling patient records and referrals.
- Proficiency in veterinary practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to problem-solve, remain calm under pressure, and provide compassionate, professional service.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and specialty services is a plus.
- Previous experience in a veterinary office is required.
- Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
- Comfort discussing sensitive topics (e.g., end-of-life care, financial discussions) with empathy
- Ability to maintain a calm, professional, and positive demeanor
