IT Asset Management Specialist
Are you passionate about technology and organization? Join our team as an IT Asset Management Specialist! We’re looking for a detail-oriented professional to oversee and maintain a complete view of all company-owned technology assets—connecting hardware, software, assigned users, and organizational details like division and department. In this role, you’ll manage the full lifecycle of end-user hardware, from procurement through disposal, using our CMDB tool and authoritative data sources. You’ll collaborate closely with technology teams and employees across all levels of the organization to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and seamless asset management.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain IT hardware and software asset tracking data in the ITSM tool
- Reconcile CMDB data when discrepancies arise between CMDB, discovery information, and other authoritative production data repositories
- Support the design, development, and implementation of automated processes for gathering, populating, and maintaining CMDB data
- Assist with lifecycle analysis to determine asset replacement needs based on age, condition, and performance
- Assist with developing a budget for a 5-year replacement plan for end-user devices
- Receive IT equipment delivered to Hibu locations, log deliveries, store securely, conduct periodic inventories, and log equipment distribution
- Monitor asset utilization and ensure assets not in use are recovered, inventoried, relocated, or disposed of per company policies and procedures
- Enact system audit practices and conduct audits to ensure data integrity
- Recommend configuration management procedures and standards for CMDB usage
- Communicate CMDB activities to enhance awareness of processes and standards
- Develop an IT asset lifecycle management plan and process
- Work with vendors on warranty replacements
- May provide leadership, coaching, or mentoring to other tech teams
- May also participate in a hands-on physical inventory of IT assets
