Senior Front-End Developer

US-Remote

The Front-End Developer’s primary responsibility is to work within the Design Services department on customer facing web properties on the Higher Logic or Vanilla Platform. They’ll work closely with the Project Managers, Advisors, Web Designers, and other cross-collaboration within the organization across departments, sometimes performing work internally to create robust, functional, and reliable web applications using various front-end technologies and client-side code. The Front-End Developers will work closely with customers and stakeholders to create holistic User Experiences that help drive the organizations’ goals. They may, from time to time, also join in the internal development of server-side, or back-end applications and widgets to help serve the future goals of the Design Services department and organization as a whole.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Determine the feasibility and technical requirements of design projects and goals as stated from the project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain responsive web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement design mockups and wireframes.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across various browsers and devices.
  • Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Ensure code is optimized for various devices and browsers.
  • Maintain and update existing websites to improve usability and design.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies, as well as learn and be well versed in the Higher Logic & Vanilla platforms/widgets and upcoming roadmap enhancements.
  • Serve as customer advocate to internal engineering teams for bug fixes related to the HL Product supporting the customer
  • Conduct all business in accordance with Higher Logic policies and procedures.
  • Participate in meetings related to dev phase of customer projects for discovery, updates, troubleshooting, and site reviews.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts to the customer.
  • A solid understanding of design, copy and web design practices.
  • Knowledge of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
  • A great understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as knowledge of other related front-end code frameworks/extensions like SASS, etc
  • Proficiency in popular frameworks and libraries like React, Angular, or Vue.js
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Understand business requirements and use them to create and pitch a creative strategy to meet the customer needs.
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing requirements
  • Strong organization skills to drive multiple, simultaneous projects with the ability to accept additional responsibilities to meet the needs of the business.
  • Proficient in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), Sketch, or Figma.
