Vice President, Public Relations (B2B Technology)

Vice Presidents of B2B Technology at Highwire serve as leaders as part of Highwire’s B2B Technology Industry Sector Team, helping shape strategy, drive growth, and deliver impactful communications programs for the world’s most innovative and influential B2B technology brands. They oversee a portfolio of complex, high-value accounts, lead senior client relationships, and guide teams in delivering consistent, exceptional results.

This role represents a leadership opportunity for strategic, hands-on communications professionals with 10+ years of agency experience and deep fluency in the B2B technology ecosystem—spanning enterprise software, artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, SaaS platforms, developer tools, data and analytics, and the full spectrum of B2B technology innovation. Vice Presidents mentor teams, contribute to thought leadership, and play an important role in new business development, talent growth, and the continued evolution of Highwire’s B2B Technology Industry Sector Team.

Key Responsibilities

Practice & Client Leadership

  • Serve as a lead for a portfolio of key B2B technology accounts, setting strategic direction and ensuring best-in-class delivery.
  • Advise clients across enterprise software, artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, SaaS platforms, developer tools, data and analytics, compliance technology, and emerging B2B technology categories.
  • Define and oversee integrated, multi-channel communications strategies that build brand authority, trust, and long-term market leadership in one of the most competitive and fast-moving technology environments.
  • Provide executive-level counsel on messaging, positioning, reputation management, issues response, and navigating rapidly evolving market dynamics—from AI disruption to global regulatory and compliance shifts.
  • Guide teams in translating complex B2B technology concepts into clear, compelling, and business-relevant stories for audiences ranging from C-suite executives and boards of directors to developers and technical buyers.
  • Own senior client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and escalation point while ensuring client satisfaction, retention, and expansion.
  • Identify and drive organic growth opportunities across existing accounts, including expanded thought leadership, research-driven storytelling, and executive visibility programs.
  • Oversee financial performance for assigned accounts, including budgets, forecasting, staffing models, and margin management.

Media, Thought Leadership & Market Influence

  • Contribute to Highwire’s point of view on B2B technology trends, including AI acceleration, increasing security and compliance demands, fragmented media landscapes, and evolving buying committee dynamics.
  • Maintain and deepen relationships with top-tier B2B technology, enterprise, trade, business, and policy media, as well as analysts and key industry influencers.
  • Oversee thought leadership programs grounded in market intelligence, proprietary data, product innovation, and timely industry insights that cut through AI-generated noise and position clients as authoritative voices.
  • Guide executive visibility strategies, including media training, keynote placements, bylined content, and conference speaking opportunities for C-suite executives, founders, and technical leaders.
  • Support integrated amplification strategies across earned, owned, and social channels to extend the reach of product launches, research, and executive commentary, connecting with decision-makers across the buying cycle.
  • Represent Highwire and its clients at major B2B technology industry events and conferences (e.g., AWS re:Invent, Gartner IT Symposium, Salesforce Dreamforce, Microsoft Ignite, and relevant enterprise and developer forums).

Agency Operations, Leadership & Growth

  • Lead, mentor, and develop account teams, setting a high standard for strategic thinking, client service, and quality.
  • Support team growth through recruitment, coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Play a key role in new business development, contributing to pitch strategy, proposal development, and client presentations.
  • Partner with agency leadership and peers to support Highwire’s B2B Technology Industry Sector Team go-to-market efforts and service evolution, including collaboration across cybersecurity, health, financial services, and energy practices.
  • Contribute to agency marketing initiatives, including award submissions, case studies, and promotion of proprietary B2B technology research and market intelligence.
  • Champion Highwire’s culture of inclusion, empowerment, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and uphold the firm’s commitment to DIBs (Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging).

Success Factors

  • 10+ years of PR or strategic communications experience, with significant agency leadership experience (required).
  • Deep expertise leading communications for B2B technology companies, including enterprise software, AI, cloud, SaaS, data and analytics, developer platforms, or compliance technology.
  • Proven success owning and scaling integrated, multi-channel communications programs for complex, high-growth B2B technology clients navigating long buying cycles and diverse buying committees.
  • Strong command of the B2B technology media landscape, analyst community (e.g., Gartner, Forrester, IDC), and key industry influencers.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft data-informed, creativity-driven narratives that rise above market noise and connect with decision-makers from the boardroom to the developer community.
  • Exceptional strategic writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities, with fluency in translating technical complexity into business impact.
  • Demonstrated experience providing executive-level client counsel and managing senior stakeholder relationships, including C-suite and board-level engagement.
  • Track record of building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing teams.
  • Strong business acumen, including experience with forecasting, resourcing, and revenue growth.
  • Experience supporting and winning new business in a competitive agency environment.
  • Confident, collaborative, and decisive leader with a passion for B2B technology innovation and the evolving dynamics of enterprise buying and influence.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while balancing strategic and operational priorities across a diverse portfolio of technology clients. 

 


The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $195,000, with the final offer based on a combination of factors, including education, relevant experience, skills, prior training, internal equity, and local geographic market data. Location & Work Environment

Highwire offers both remote and hybrid work options, depending on where you live.

Hybrid: Candidates located within commuting distance of our New York, NY or San Francisco, CA offices follow a hybrid schedule, with three in-office days per week.
