Lead Campus Professional- Emerging Campuses at Hillel BC
Lead Campus Professional- Emerging Campuses
Hillel BC
Role Overview
Make your mark on Jewish student life by joining Hillel BC as the Lead Campus Professional on Emerging Campuses. You will build one on one relationships with students, putting on awesome events around campuses, and help inspire students to make a commitment to Jewish life. As the Lead Campus Professional- Emerging Campuses, you’ll be bringing Jewish life to post-secondary schools where it’s still taking shape — including Langara, Emily Carr, VIU, UBCO, and TRU — and where your presence can truly make all the difference.
You’ll be the first face many students see when they’re looking for connection, culture, or a sense of belonging, and you’ll help build something meaningful from the ground up. You’ll spend your time getting to know students one-on-one, supporting them in forming community, and organizing experiences that reflect their interests and identities. Whether you’re helping a student plan a Shabbat dinner in their dorm building, running a cultural event on campus, or simply checking in over coffee, your work will empower students to lead, grow, and feel proud of who they are. This is a unique opportunity to be bold, creative, and entrepreneurial. You’ll work across multiple campuses, each with its own rhythm and community, and your impact will be felt by students who may not have had access to the Jewish community otherwise. You’ll be the connector, the builder, and the person who helps students feel at home — even in places where that hasn’t always been easy.
What You’ll Do
- Actively contribute to shaping Hille BC by engaging smaller campuses.
- Collaborate with students and colleagues to develop 9-12 program(s).
- Develop one-on-one connections with Jewish students by meeting them where they live, work, and study. Use creative methods to engage them in Jewish life and empower newly engaged students to create meaningful experiences with their peers.
- Guide students in exploring their Jewish identities and foster a warm, welcoming Jewish campus community.
- Connect with students from diverse backgrounds through meaningful conversations and opportunities to participate in Jewish life on campus.
- Inspire students to take initiative by supporting the creation of new, student-led programs. Encourage and mentor them to develop events and projects that reflect their interests, passions, and Jewish journeys.
- This role involves regular travel between campuses—expect to be on the road 2–3 days at a time. Flexibility, independence, and strong time management are key to building consistent relationships across multiple locations.
What You’ll Bring to the Job
- 0 -2 years’ professional work experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Outgoing, friendly, and energized by meeting new people, whether you’re tabling on campus, grabbing coffee, or welcoming students to events.
- Relationship builder who thrives on conversations and connecting people to the community.
- Self-starter with excellent follow-through. You can juggle a to-do list, plan events from A to Z, and don’t wait around to be told what to do next.
- Comfortable managing multiple moving pieces and keeping your eye on the bigger picture.
- Passionate about building Jewish community, even if your own experience looks a little different.
- Excited to create meaningful programs grounded in Jewish culture, tradition, and identity.
- Committed to inclusive spaces where every student feels seen and valued.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office and Windows applications
- Hold valid driver's License in Canada
