Role Overview
Positions available in multiple locations across the US beginning Fall Semester 2026. This posting is for anticipated openings. While we will conduct preliminary interviews based on applications submitted through this posting, we will also reach out to qualified candidates to engage in a campus-specific review process once individual roles are posted. Note that positions are anticipated to open on a rolling basis through summer 2026. Specific titles, compensation, and experience required/preferred vary by campus Hillel.

As an IACT professional, you’ll do exactly that. You’ll build meaningful relationships and connect students to Birthright Israel and each other.
Make a lasting impact on Jewish life as an IACT professional (Inspired, Active, Committed, Transformed), Hillel's innovative strategy that harnesses the power of Birthright. In addition to guiding students on impactful Birthright experiences, IACTs build campus communities prior to their departure and upon their return. IACTs are excited to engage students in Israel and in Jewish conversations and have a deep understanding of Jewish identity as a framework for shaping meaning, value, and purpose in the lives of emerging adults. They wake up each day (or at least most!) excited to help students explore and create vibrant connections to Israel and Jewish Life.
This is an in-person and on-campus role available at a variety of locations.
What You’ll Do
- Travel to Israel with college students while leading immersive experiences
- Build meaningful connections with students and seek out students who are not yet involved in Jewish life
- Serve as a thought partner and entrepreneurial leader for the campus Hillel’s student life staff and engagement strategy
- Recruit, coordinate, and curate a meaningful Birthright Israel experience for students
- Staff Shabbat dinners and help celebrate holidays with the campus community
- Manage campus Hillel’s Birthright Israel program, including recruitment, interviews, pre-trip orientations, and creating the most impactful trip experience
- Create ways to elevate student passions and craft experiences that reflect the interests of the student body
- Manage post-trip engagement and develop Jewish experiences and opportunities for Birthright Israel alumni
- Support recruitment for other immersive experiences in Israel including Onward Israel, Masa Israel, and Maccabee Task Force
- Develop and nurture relationships with University personnel and partners throughout campus
- Attend staff meetings and participate in regular supervision with supervisor
- Collaborate with other Hillel staff to help shape and develop the mission of the campus Hillel
What You’ll Bring to the Job
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 0-5 years of experience, dependent on local Hillel needs and position specifics
- Entrepreneurial energy and a passion for Judaism, Israel, and the Jewish People
- Creativity, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, ability to take initiative, interest in professional growth, excellent interpersonal communication, and leadership development skills
- Prior travel experience in Israel, preferably on a Birthright Israel trip
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments
- Things may not always go according to plan, but you are willing to take risks and learn from your wins as well as your losses
What You’ll Receive
- Competitive salary in the non-profit marketplace. The salary range for this role is commensurate based on experience, with the average salary being $48,000, depending on experience, location, title, and job description at the individual locations. Please note that this scale is based on several different openings and might be higher or lower in some specific locations’ job postings.
