Freelance Assistant/Associate Designer
Hill House is seeking an Assistant/Associate Designer to support our Design team. This role reports to the Senior Designer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain organization of samples, swatches, and mock-ups throughout the season
- Responsible for creating technical CADs in Illustrator
- Rendering of CADs for line sheets
- Support Associate Designer with maintaining organization of samples at the beginning of each season for Proto Review; includes the checking in and steaming of samples
- Help Senior Designer and Associate Designer create development tech packs for each season
- Assist Technical Designer with specking and steaming samples prior to fittings
- Responsible for BOM and sketch updates after fittings
- Support Asssociate Designer with trim chart for production pass-offs
- Assist with organization of strike-offs and lab dips (maintain binders so they are organized when reviewing new submits)
- Assist with trim research in garment district as needed
- Pick up samples from pattern makers
- Assist with the creation of packages
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design
- Must have strong sketching abilities and beautiful illustrator flats
- Strong Illustrator and Photoshop skills
- Strong understanding of construction
- Excellent attention to detail
- Positive attitude with an eagerness to learn and grow
- Embraces a culture of learning and advocacy
- Has lived experiences with people from different backgrounds and diverse teams
