Hill House Home is a fast-growing, customer-centric lifestyle brand offering thoughtfully designed fashion, home, and accessories. We are known for our signature aesthetic, high-quality craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of our customers’ needs. We are excited to add a Print Designer to our team as our collections, partnerships, and team grows. As our first full-time Print hire, this role will work closely with Heads of Design, Merchandising, and Product Development teams to develop prints for all categories. This role is based in our NYC corporate office (3 days in office).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret seasonal concepts and translate them into innovative and cohesive print collections.
- Develop compelling print and pattern stories for all apparel and accessory categories.
- Responsible for contributing images, concept ideas, trend research, and print/graphic ideas.
- Research trends/inspiration in the market and assist in sourcing artworks by attending print meetings and shows.
- Clean, color separate, and create colorway options for designs.
- Must be skilled at hand drawing, painting and designing original artwork.
- Translate scanned/vintage artwork to repeats, redraw existing vintage artworks when necessary
- Work with the design team to create CADs that align with design direction.
- Assist with placed print direction as it applies to bodies, including directing CLO3d files.
- Incorporate selling feedback into design decisions.
- Assist in creating seasonal presentation tools for milestone meetings.
- Pass print packages to mills seasonally.
- Requesting sign-offs with mills, communicating with mills on comments and approvals on sign-offs, and SMS.
- Understand and work with product development to accommodate mills print limitations and adjust print files when necessary.
- Ability to meet and manage overlapping deadlines.
- Work proactively to ensure adherence to development calendars and timelines.
- Organize and maintain print and pattern archives, both digitally and physically.
ABOUT YOU
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in print design.
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Understand garment construction and terminology as it relates to the job.
- Experience with printing effectively on a variety of fabrications.
- Strong hand-drawing, painting, and original artwork design skills.
- Experience in product development and working directly with factories and mills across multiple printing types.
- In-depth knowledge of textiles, fabrications, printing, and manufacturing techniques.
- Highly developed sense of color and taste level.
- Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
- Salary Range: $80,000+
