Retail Operations Consultant

Hill House Home is seeking an experienced Retail Operations Consultant to lead store openings for new retail locations. You’ll play a key part in ensuring operational excellence, driving cross-functional collaboration, and managing the end-to-end NSO process—from pre-opening preparation to post-opening follow-ups. You’ll work closely with the Retail Operations, Merchandise & Planning, Construction, and field teams to create a seamless store launch experience.

This is a 6 month contract role (with the possibility to extend) and will report directly to the Director of Retail Operations. The Retail Operations Consultant will be based out of our New York City office but will primarily travel to be on the ground support at all upcoming store openings.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee upcoming new store openings and travel to manage all new store openings on-site
  • Host kick-off calls and establish weekly NSO planning meetings to align on priorities with partners from the Retail Ops, Marketing, and Construction teams
  • Confirm and facilitate operational specifics, including operating hours, property manager introductions, and site-specific details
  • Act as a primary point of contact for weekly store development calls, leading communication with HQ partners before and during store openings
  • Partner with the Retail Operations team to ensure that all NSO supplies and products arrive on time and are properly checked in; assist in procurement where needed 
  • Manage key system setup processes, including software integration, and vendor account creation
  • Support store turnover, operational setup, visual merchandising and provide hands-on assistance throughout opening weekends
  • In partnership with the Director of Retail Operations and the Retail Sales & Operations Manager, support the training district support leads to execute orientation and dress rehearsal with store team
  • Collaborate with store teams and Retail Operations to gather feedback for continuous improvement on NSO execution

 

Compensation for the role will be determined based on candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience. The estimated monthly compensation for this is $9,000-$10,000+
