​​About the Role:

As an Operations Manager, you will lead a team that is responsible for meeting and maintaining productivity and quality standards within the Hims & Hers compounding lab. You will be instrumental in leading and expanding the sterile compounding operations, which requires an experienced operational leader to build and grow the team. You will be key in leading daily operations, driving continuous improvement, and increasing building capacity within the labs to meet growing demands.. You will report into the VP of Sterile Compounding and this role will be based in Los Alamitos California. 

You Will:

  • Build and drive a culture of safety within the compounding labs
  • Manage and lead daily operations in the compounding labs, ensuring technician teams are operating to the production schedule.
  • Identify and communicate reasons for production concerns/misses/issues, developing corrective actions to prevent further production delays
  • Develop policies and procedures to help build process standardization across network
  • Lead a team of compounding managers, leads, and pharmacy techs in both hazardous and non-hazardous non-sterile and sterile compounding
  • Develop and deliver key KPIs to meet capacity and demand
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce cost
  • Lead labor planning for the department 
  • Consistently maintain all productivity and quality standards
  • Partner with Maintenance and Engineering to drive innovation, productivity, and capacity.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a safe work environment that’s compliant with all applicable federal and state law regarding the storage of materials, warehouse safety and cleanliness (FDA, OSHA).
  • Work in close collaboration with the production, Quality, logistics and fulfillment team to ensure business and production goals are met . 
  • Constantly seeks ways to improve efficiency, quality & cost control where applicable.
  • Submit accurate and timely reports, attend meetings, and drive company OKRs and KPIs.
  • Represent the company with integrity and professionalism.
  • Expanding operations to multiple shifts to maximize throughput whilst maintaining culture.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by the VP of Sterile Compounding.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of working experience in pharmacy operations, manufacturing or an operational environment.
  • 2+ years in a Supervisory/Management role.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience leading technically complex projects.
  • Proficient knowledge of personal computers and applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Google Docs and Gmail.
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong leadership, team building, organizational and interpersonal skills with proven ability to exercise accurate judgment and execute appropriate course of action.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively train and manage others.
  • Cross-functional team leadership, partnering with Quality, Compliance, R&D, etc.  Works well with a team and independently. 
  • Working knowledge of lean leadership tools and practices (Six Sigma, 5S, etc) is preferred
  • Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of USP 797, 800, and/or cGMP 
  • Physical exertion is required. Including, but not limited to, walking, standing, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 50lbs.

Conditions of Employment: 

  • This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and would require that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn for the length of working with these drugs. These items would include gloves, respiratory protection, gown and other items as required.
  • This position requires medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators, including N95, full face respirator, SCBA, or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
  • Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking up to 50% of the time, standing up to 100% of the time, squatting and bending up to 20% of the time and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Due to the risk of reproductive capability in handling or compounding certain Hazardous Drugs (HD) associates must be willing to confirm that they understand the potential risks (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity and reproductive effects) of handling hazardous drugs.

Outlined below is a reasonable estimate of H&H’s compensation range for this role for US-based candidates. If you're based outside of the US, your recruiter will be able to provide you with an estimated salary range for your location.

The actual amount will take into account a range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and location. H&H also offers a comprehensive Total Rewards package that may include an equity grant.

An estimate of the current salary range is

$105,000 - $115,000 USD
