About The Role:

The Senior Program Manager will work closely with our Chief Growth Officer on key cross-functional and strategic initiatives critical for Hippo’s long-term success. You will act as an extension of our CGO and own a variety of projects ranging from solving operational issues, to driving alignment and execution on critical initiatives. You will enable the CGO to efficiently scale by helping them with tracking and streamlining top priorities, identifying and removing bottlenecks hindering organizational projects, keeping our teams aligned and accountable, and formulating executive and board communications. You will foster trust and credibility with the rest of the executive team as the CGO’s closest proxy and advisor.   

As the Senior Program Manager, you'll own special projects and will have a unique opportunity to view and understand Hippo's day-to-day challenges and priorities from the vantage point of the senior leadership. You will be exposed to every function at Hippo (insurance, agency product, operations, finance, engineering, data, marketing, etc.) and learn how to execute big-picture strategies and navigate the intricacies of a complex business.  

What You’ll Do:

Strategic Planning & Execution: 

  • Serve as a critical advisor to the CGO, offering strategic guidance, sound judgment, and thoughtful insights to inform decision-making on critical business decisions
  • Drive cross-functional, high-impact initiatives that align with the company’s strategic priorities, ensuring seamless execution and fostering collaboration across all parts of the organization
  • Identify and address potential obstacles to achieving strategic objectives
  • Help manage day-to-day operations through quarterly OKRs and recurring meetings 

Operational Efficiency: 

  • Streamline processes and improve efficiencies across the organization
  • Oversee cross-functional projects and initiatives, ensuring timely completion and high-quality outcomes
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination between departments

Leadership Support: 

  • Serve as a key advisor to the CGO, providing insights, analysis, and recommendations on key decisions
  • Prepare executive and board briefings, presentations, and reports
  • Act as a liaison between the CGO and other stakeholders, including the board of directors, investors, and external partners

Communication & Stakeholder Management: 

  • Ensure clear and consistent communication of organizational priorities and initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage the flow of information to and from the CGO, ensuring that the executive team is informed and aligned 

Problem Solving & Decision Making: 

  • Address complex challenges and make recommendations for solutions
  • Analyze data and trends to support informed decision-making
  • Anticipate issues and proactively manage risks

 Must Haves:

  • 6+ years of experience; ideally a mix of Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Venture Capital, or Private Equity, and Business Operations, Product Management, Strategy or Growth
  • Proven history of taking on end-to-end responsibilities and leadership roles, consistently delivering results  
  • Demonstrated exceptional analytical capabilities and ability to leverage data and insights to drive strategic decisions
  • Possesses superior verbal and written communication skills; able to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely across all levels of the organization, ensuring alignment internally and externally
  • Exhibit strong executive presence; able to engage and influence senior stakeholders, lead confidently in high-pressure situations, and represent leaders with professionalism and credibility
  • Exemplifies the highest level of integrity and discretion, managing sensitive information with absolute confidentiality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Must be located in the San Francisco Bay area or Austin, TX or willing to relocate
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred) 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • MBA with 4+ years of relevant post-MBA experience 
  • Experience working in a high-growth or startup environment
  • Familiarity with home insurance industry the home building industry or related fields

The base pay range for this role is $117,000 - $218,000. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, location, business needs and market demands.
