About You:
We are seeking a candidate with knowledge and experience in homeowner liability investigation and litigation, including both first- and third-party cases. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker with a proven ability to identify irregularities and prevent fraud. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role.

What You’ll Do:
We’re seeking an experienced multi-disciplinary Litigation Adjuster with an emphasis on all aspects of Personal Lines Property coverage including liability investigation and pre lit and litigation experience to handle all type claims from Homeowners policies in multiple states. You’ll be able to use your expert discernment in handling each case, but you’ll also have a team to rely on to help come up with innovative solutions. Day to day, this Litigation Adjuster will work with customers, vendors, and outside counsel over the phone to provide excellent customer service and responsible claims handling.
- Manage all aspects of property and liability losses related to Personal Lines Homeowners, with a focus on litigated files.
- Engage promptly with customers to set clear expectations, develop actionable plans, and assess initial exposure.
- Conduct thorough investigations of various types of claims.
- Review transferred files and collaborate on action plans to achieve desired outcomes.
- Analyze investigation data and policy terms to determine policy coverage accurately
- Clearly explain coverage details to policyholders while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Coordinate and assign vendors to perform necessary fieldwork.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive electronic records documenting all file-handling activities.
- Determine and negotiate settlement amounts for claimed damages within assigned authority limits, escalating complex cases to management as needed or issuing payments promptly.
- Ensure consistent and timely follow-up, bringing claims to appropriate resolution while keeping customers informed throughout the claims process.
Must Haves:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience handling bad faith litigation with exposure to liability claims.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, risk management, or a related field is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of experience adjusting litigated liability claims is required.
- Strong background in liability claims handling, with direct experience adjusting litigated liability claims.
- Proven experience collaborating with Property Adjusters and attorneys.
- In-depth knowledge of DOI regulations and compliance processes.
- Multi-state adjuster licenses required, including Texas, with the ability to obtain additional licenses as needed.
- Solid understanding of claims processes, investigations, policy language, and principles of good faith and fair dealing in file analysis.
- Self-motivated and autonomous while being highly collaborative in team settings.
- Adaptable and committed to achieving high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management, attention to detail, and record-keeping abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and prioritize effectively in high-pressure situations.
Nice to Haves:
- Associate in Claims (AIC) or Senior Claims Law Associate (SCLA) or other claims-related designation preferred
- Exposure to Special Investigations Unit (SIU) or fraud detection is a plus.
