About This Role:

Hippo is seeking a content specialist to develop and lead an editorial program that drives strong results.  This role will be instrumental in overseeing high-quality, strategic content that supports B2B, B2B2C, and D2C initiatives, enhancing our S EO performance, and strengthening our brand’s thought leadership in the insurance and home protection space .

You’ll manage editorial planning and the development and tracking of content performance,  while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure content aligns with Hippo’s brand guidelines and supports marketing and business goals. You’ll partner with internal and external content creators, manage agencies, and leverage insights to develop compelling, multi-purpose content that serves our business objectives.

What You'll Do:

  • Grow Hippo’s editorial strategy by developing a content strategy that serves B2B, B2B2C, and D2C channels.
  • Collaborate and drive results with SEO and content agencies to optimize and scale content efforts with allotted budget.
  • Develop and oversee editorial calendars to ensure a steady cadence of high-quality content.
  • Work closely with internal insurance experts to transform technical topics into consumer and partner friendly, insightful content.
  • Ensure all content aligns with Hippo’s brand voice and guidelines while keeping a steady eye on accuracy in a regulated industry.
  • Manage content workflows, including working with freelance writers, designers, and legal.
  • Develop multi-purpose content that can be repurposed across multiple platforms (e.g., blog, social, email, sales collateral).
  • Track and analyze content performance to refine strategy.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging digital content best practices to keep Hippo’s content fresh and relevant.

 Must Haves: 

  • 5+ years of content marketing or editorial experience, preferably in a regulated industry.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex topics into engaging, high-value content.
  • Experience managing SEO-driven content strategies and managing to organic traffic goals.
  • Familiarity with paid social content strategies and experience developing content that supports performance marketing goals.
  • Experience working with designers to create visually compelling, brand-aligned content.
  • Proven track record of managing content teams and/or freelance writers and agencies.
  • Ability to handle cross-functional projects and collaborate across marketing and product teams.
  • Highly organized, deadline-driven, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.

The SF Bay Area base pay range for this role is $87,000- $135,000. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, location, business needs and market demands.
