About You 

You will be a pillar of the IT Engineering function at Hippo, working closely with the IT Operations team to build and maintain a cloud-first infrastructure, creating scalable automated workflows that tie our systems together. 

You love building relationships with customers, business partners, and IT team members alike. You have an extensive background in scripting, IT infrastructure, and are passionate about providing the best customer service experience possible, driving best practices within the team. You are passionate about mentorship and providing feedback to other members of the team.  

What You'll Do: 

  • Build automation for internal IT Operations workflows using tools such as Bash/PowerShell scripting, Azure Power Apps, Azure Runbooks, etc. 
  • Design, maintain, and improve our Azure infrastructure; through existing Azure runbooks, VM’s, and network gateways 
  • Maintain CI/CD pipeline for business automation via Azure DevOps 
  • Implement SSO & API integrations to centrally tie SaaS management under IT, including provisioning, deprovisioning, and permissions control 
  • Architect scalable solutions for systems access that leverage a growth mindset 
  • Identify gaps in current technology, systems, and operations, and engineer scalable solutions to reduce tech debt 
  • Manage engineering sprints to drive deliverables and meet OKRs 
  • Support enforcement of security standards (antivirus/firewall/patching/two-factor authentication) 
  • Lead cross-functional projects as a key stakeholder, highlighting and championing company impact including user experience, security, infrastructure, and others 
  • Translate project requirements and deadlines into actionable objectives for IT Engineering staff 

Must Haves: 

  • 5+ years of experience in a modern IT Engineering environment 
  • 2+ years of experience managing/leading projects 
  • Scripting and cloud infrastructure experience building automation for internal teams (via API, Selenium, Power Apps, etc.) 
  • Experience configuring/managing modern MDM systems such as Jamf, Workspace ONE, Intune, etc. 
  • Experience managing or designing systems/permissions architectures within tools for SSO (Okta, OneLogin) and service management (Jira) 
  • Experience managing vendor and cross-team relationships 
  • Deep understanding of engineering ticket management, tracking metrics and trends, and defining/enforcing best practices (I.e., Sprint planning & management) 
  • Experience with cross-functional projects as a key stakeholder, highlighting and championing company impact including user experience, security, infrastructure, and others
