About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Designer with a passion for great design to join our remote-first team at Hiro. In this critical role, you'll help ensure developers can build and scale applications using the Stacks blockchain, with Hiro tools. You will share responsibility for leading the company’s design efforts, with a primary focus on product design and support for brand and visual design initiatives. You’ll also contribute to fostering a strong design culture across the company.
What you'll do
- Own design initiatives for the Hiro products and Hiro brand.
- Work closely with engineers to understand technical possibilities and limitations, ensuring a smooth design-to-development handoff.
- Maintain and evolve Hiro’s design system, ensuring consistency and quality across both product and brand.
- Collaborate across different teams, including Brand, DevRel, Marketing, and People, to support company-wide design needs.
- Collaborate on continuous product discovery, experimentation, and problem-solving.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience independently managing the full design process from start to finish, whether focused on product and/or brand design.
- Experience working on consumer or technical apps, with a strong eye for both visual aesthetics and usability.
- Experience collaborating with front-end engineers to prepare ‘implementation-ready’ designs.
- Experience working with brand assets and translating brand vision into product and marketing collateral
- Familiarity with the developer mindset as well as comfort with reading through technical materials and participating in technical conversations
What we’d like to see
- 7+ years crafting high-quality UX and UI for early- or growth-stage startups in a lead or senior role
- Experience leading brand identity projects or collaborating with brand designers
- 5+ years of regular experience with Figma or equivalent collaborative-design application
- Familiarity with user testing platforms (e.g., Usertesting.com) or experience supporting user research.
- Experience working with GitHub for project management
- Experience building design systems

- Competitive NYC based Salary(regardless of location, benchmarked annually) $138,000 - $150,000
