Cultivation Associate

About the Job:

The Cultivation Associate provides care and support for plant cultivation, abiding by policies, procedures and operational guidelines.

  • Sow, pot, thin, weed, water, transplant, and move plants

  • Spot plant pests and other perils and act before they become a problem for plant health

  • Manage marijuana plants, giving each individual plant the attention it needs

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

  • Execute all activities in the veg, flower, and propagation rooms

  • Track and record all veg or flower room data as directed

  • Keep veg, flower, propagation, and dry rooms immaculate and fully operational.

  • Take part in overall facility cleanliness

  • Execute all activities in the mom and veg rooms

  • Participate in tracking clones and moms

  • Execute on mother plant and veg plant maintenance

  • Inform supervisor if growing environment is out of specification

  • Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers

  • Responsible for following all operational guidelines, verbal directives, training information and policies when performing duties.

  • Physical Requirements of the Job: VERY LABOR INTENSIVE. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 75 pounds (125 pounds with assistance), may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching. Moderate to loud exposure to noise level.

About You:

General

  • Due to state regulations, qualified candidates for this position must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check – certain criminal convictions may disqualify candidates based on state medical marijuana licensing regulations.

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Relevant work experience in a hydroponic vegetable production or bedding plant production facility is desired.

  • Prior nursery, landscaping and/or agricultural experience preferred

  • Cannabis experience helpful

Technological Skills:

  • Experience with automation systems

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Basic math skills

  • Must be able to work in a safety aware environment

  • Attention to detail

  • Effective communication skills

  • Strong work ethic

  • Willingness to learn

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time (i.e., trimming plants, potting, and regular inventory).

  • Ability to work effectively and in a cohesive team atmosphere with all areas

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient written and verbal communications skills

  • Strong ethics and sound judgment

 

Maryland pay range

$18 - $18 USD

When We Complete A Background Check

After reviewing your application, Holistic Industries may extend a conditional offer of employment. Subject to legal requirements, Holistic Industries may use a third-party vendor to conduct a background check on you. In doing so, Holistic Industries will receive your personal identifiers (name, physical address, telephone number, and Social Security number) and professional or employment information (employment history and educational history) from our vendor. We use this personal information to assess your application and suitability for the position for which you have applied and to comply with legal requirements.

  1. When You Undertake Drug-Screening

After reviewing your application, Holistic Industries may extend a conditional offer of employment. Subject to legal requirements, Holistic Industries may use a third-party vendor to conduct drug-screening. In doing so, Holistic Industries will receive your personal identifiers (name) and your medical information (drug-test results) from our vendor. We use this personal information to assess your application and suitability for the position for which you have applied and to comply with legal requirements.

  1. When We Complete Identity Verification

If you pass the background check and/or drug screening, we will collect additional personal information so that Holistic Industries can verify your employment eligibility. To do so, we will have you complete a Form I-9. When you complete the Form I-9, we will collect your personal identifiers (date of birth, Social Security number, driver's license, and passport).

HOW WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

General Sharing

Holistic Industries shares your personal information with service providers, and certain other third parties as described below:

  • To Validate Your Applicant Information. Subject to local legal requirements, we may use external services to collect, process, and/or validate your personal information. You will also be asked to provide Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action information. This is not mandatory - if you do not provide it, it will not affect your application. Any personal information you provide will be used to for government reporting purpose.
  • With Service Providers. We may need share your personal information with service providers that assist us with the application process. These service providers include our application host, background-check provider, and drug-screening provider.
