The Logistics Coordinator role manages all planning, tendering, and sourcing of truck load capacity, as well as tracking all of their respective shipments. They are responsible for troubleshooting any and all operational issues that come day to day. Candidates must be highly motivated and have a strong attention to detail to succeed in this role.
Detailed Responsibilities
Manage Logistics day to day operations
- Track and trace all loads and troubleshoot issues with carriers when problems arise
- Ensure all shipments are appropriately updated on time throughout the life of the load
- Monitor and provide timely responses to internal and external email and slack communication
- Act as an escalation point person for issue resolution
- Maintain regular, open lines of communication with small parcel, full truckload, LTL, and third party carriers to ensure high service levels and quick problem resolution
- Manage contract and spot rates for loads, secure appropriate capacity, and tender freight to carriers
- Light weekend and after hours tracking
- Work with TMS (transportation management system) and internal tools and escalate issues or areas for process improvement
- Use internal tools to communicate forecasted load requirements for truckload and LTL (less than truckload) shipments
Working cross functionally with plant teams
- Develop strong relationships and operational understanding with warehouse and production teams to schedule loads and dock appointments
- Proactively communicate pertinent shipment details to/from carriers and internal teams
- Manage exceptions like rescheduling, delays and track shipments to destination
Reporting, Auditing, Claims Management
- Audit and reconcile invoices prior to payment by accounts payable
- Raise claims and other exception items as required
- Maintain data within internal tools
This position requires 10% travel.
Qualifications

- Completion of a four-year degree program in a related field
- Highly autonomous and proactive
- Strong verbal and written communicator and negotiator
- 1+ year logistics and/or transportation experience required
- Mastery of spreadsheet usage (Excel, Google Sheets)
- Strong ability to multi-task and flexibly switch between tasks, detail orientation
- Strong sense for numbers in a business context e.g., prices, spend
- Capable of quickly assessing competing priorities and maintaining fast response times
