The Tempo Associate Editor is a member of the Tempo Product team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Tempo Product Strategy. Their duties primarily are editing compound ingredients and meals to ensure they are accurate and easy to follow for our production kitchens and customers. They will also help solve cross-functional escalations and requests as they are related to editing. They are a vital part of ensuring our meals are set-up to be cooked and assembled correctly and our customers receive what they are expecting.
Detailed Responsibilities
Compound Ingredient and Meal Editing
- Edits compound ingredient recipes and meal builds for Tempo meals and Extras
- Makes ingredient swaps in meals to the most up to date versions/recipes
- Maintains and updates Tempo’s Style Guide according to new ingredients and techniques and provides updates to chef team on changes
- Has excellent eye for details and supports other heavily detail-orientated tactical work as needed
- Handles escalations and ad hoc requests from Tempo Product and cross-functional teams as they relate to editing
- Completes editing improvement projects as needed and as time allows
Product General Work
- Participates in weekly Tempo Product team meetings
- Supports weekly tasting & sampling for R&D
- Reviews customer feedback on assigned weekly meals and summarizes findings
Qualifications

- Completion of a four-year degree program in a related field (please describe): Preferably with a focus on English, Writing, or Liberal Arts
- Impeccable attention to detail
- 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a related field such as publishing or editing
- Basic knowledge of Google sheets/Excel highly preferred
- Experience in the food industry preferred
- Experience with recipe writing or editing highly desired
- No food restrictions or allergies
- This position requires no travel

Home Chef offers the base salary range as posted below, with the exact offer depending on factors such as geographic location, experience, skills, and internal equity. While compensation is within the provided range, it is not typical for offers to be made at the upper end. In addition to base salary, Home Chef provides a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare coverage, 401k match, and paid time off.
Illinois Pay Range
$55,000 - $63,000 USD
