Head Of Financial Planning & Analysis

Home Chef is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to lead our financial planning, forecasting, and analysis functions. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Head of FP&A will be a key business partner, providing critical insights and recommendations to drive informed decision-making and achieve our strategic objectives. This role requires a strong understanding of financial principles, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. You will lead a talented FP&A team and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of our organization.

Detailed Responsibilities

Ownership and analytical support for key FP&A activities:

  • Lead the Annual Budgeting and Forecasting Process: Oversee the development of the annual budget, periodic forecasts, and long-range financial plans, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and operational plans.
  • Develop and Enhance Financial Models: Build and maintain sophisticated financial models to support strategic initiatives, scenario planning, and investment decisions.
  • Conduct In-Depth Financial Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of financial results, key performance indicators (KPIs), and variances against budget and forecast, providing insightful commentary and recommendations.
  • Internal Finance Support: Act as liaison to parent company (Kroger) stakeholders. 

Strategic support for company-wide initiatives:

  • Advisory Role: Provide financial advice to senior management and other stakeholders on strategic decisions.  Act as a representative of the finance department, ensuring all aspects of finance are considered as new projects are evaluated.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis and Reporting: Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required to support business needs.

Team and process development:

  • Team: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing FP&A team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
  • Process: Review existing FP&A and financial data processes, identify areas of improvement and implement changes.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA, CFA or CPA or relevant advanced degree a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis roles, with increasing levels of responsibility; 3+ years of experience leading and managing a team.
  • Expert proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to diverse audiences.   
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand the broader business context; prior experience working for a direct-to-consumer business preferred.

Home Chef offers the base salary range as posted below, with the exact offer depending on factors such as geographic location, experience, skills, and internal equity. While compensation is within the provided range, it is not typical for offers to be made at the upper end. In addition to base salary, Home Chef provides a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare coverage, 401k match, and paid time off.

Illinois Pay Range

$180,000 - $235,000 USD
