
National Engineering Manager
The Home Chef National Engineering Manager is responsible for providing leverage to the Senior Director of Operations Excellence by effectively supporting the maintenance management process and capital improvement projects across the network of fulfillment centers. The National Facilities Manager is responsible for driving results by establishing and holding accountability to high quality expectations for the overall care, sustainability, and safe work conditions of the fulfillment centers to support business needs.
This position requires 25%-50% travel.
Continuous improvement Strategies for the Home Chef Maintenance and Compliance programs:
- Owner of the Home Chef Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Partners with the site Leadership and Maintenance teams to improve the CMMS functionality.
- Sets clear performance targets for the site maintenance teams and discusses progress against the deadlines and established KPI’s on a biweekly basis.
- Partners with the site maintenance team to build and control the spare parts inventory for critical equipment.
- Assists the Operations Excellence team with new equipment purchases to ensure the maintenance team at each site is prepared for the installation and maintenance of the equipment.
- Builds strong working relationships with all fulfillment center-based leaders including Plant Manager, Maintenance Manager/Supervisor, Safety Manager/Supervisor, and IT, and continually strives to help the plant leaders to grow and improve in their roles.
- Provides both positive and developmental feedback to plant maintenance leaders.
- Responsible for holding plant department leaders accountable for managing maintenance indirect labor on a weekly basis, including but not limited to providing guidance on appropriate scheduling to reduce equipment downtime and tracking efficiency based on work order and preventative maintenance completion
Capital Project Management:
- Drives strong communication between corporate and fulfillment center to gain buy-in and alignment on projects and priorities
- Develops creative solutions to address site bottlenecks to unlock capacity or improve safety/food safety
- Sources and onboards quality, reliable vendors to support capital or maintenance projects
- Enforces Home Chef safety requirements with all hired contractors or subcontractors working on projects
- Demonstrates willingness to work flexible hours and travel frequently to the fulfillment centers to provide regular on-site support, guidance, and drive project completion
- Develops and maintains a strong working relationship and acts as a supportive partner with the plant managers and Home Chef leadership
Ensures Facility Compliance:
- Directly manages and develops the Facilities Compliance Manager position
- Ensures plans are in place to meet all current and new state and federal facility compliance requirements
- Partners with the National Safety Manager and the Home Chef Legal team to review any new state or federal regulatory requirements
- Supports the Facilities Compliance Manager in all facility regulatory audits
Repairs, Maintenance, and Capital Expenditure Review:
- Collaborates with the Senior Director of Operations Excellence and the accounting team to properly track capital, repairs, and maintenance expenditures
- Issues and tracks POs for facility capital spend, maintenance, and repairs spend.
- Works with facility maintenance teams to better control and predict repairs and maintenance spend throughout the year
- Identifies areas of cost-saving opportunities for the maintenance team
- Identifies opportunities to streamline spare parts management across all fulfillment centers

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred)
- 5+ years of proven engineering or project management experience (Food Manufacturing preferred)
- Experience in food manufacturing highly desirable
- Experience with Employee Safety, Maintenance, IT, and Sanitation Policies and Procedures highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to drive results, manage conflict, achieve alignment, and facilitate problem-solving and collaboration amongst cross-functional teams

Home Chef offers the base salary range as posted below, with the exact offer depending on factors such as geographic location, experience, skills, and internal equity. While compensation is within the provided range, it is not typical for offers to be made at the upper end. In addition to base salary, Home Chef provides a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare coverage, 401k match, and paid time off.

$120,000 - $140,000 USD
