Director, Supply Chain Operations
The Director, Supply Chain Operations is responsible for overseeing both the Logistics function and the Procurement Excellence team. This role leads strategic efforts to optimize Home Chef’s shipping network, improve carrier performance, and ensure the seamless flow of materials across our supply chain. The director also drives procurement process improvement through analytics, tooling, and KPI oversight. This position plays a key leadership role in shaping the strategic direction of the Supply Chain organization, ensuring cost efficiency, operational excellence, and cross-functional alignment.
Detailed Responsibilities
Logistics Oversight
- Directly manage Home Chef’s eCommerce parcel and linehaul shipping network
- Oversee carrier performance, cost optimization, and delivery timeliness
- Plan and execute volume distribution strategy by plant and carrier
- Partner with Fulfillment teams to ensure alignment on daily/weekly execution
Procurement Excellence Leadership
- Guide strategic initiatives for Procurement Excellence including tool development and project oversight
- Track and manage SC KPIs, support data-driven decision-making
- Serve as thought partner to cross-functional teams in Culinary, Product, Finance, and Operations
Team Development
- Coach and support Sr. Procurement Excellence Manager and Logistics team leads
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and growth within the Supply Chain organization
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Act as a bridge between Procurement, Logistics, and the broader SC and Product teams
- Lead high-impact projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain
This position requires 10% travel.

- Completion of a four-year degree program in a related field (please describe): Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, or related field
- 3+ years experience leading teams
- Experience working with carrier negotiations and shipping network optimization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with KPIs and supply chain tooling
- High comfort operating cross-functionally and influencing without authority
- Strong communication and leadership presence

Home Chef offers the base salary range as posted below, with the exact offer depending on factors such as geographic location, experience, skills, and internal equity. While compensation is within the provided range, it is not typical for offers to be made at the upper end. In addition to base salary, Home Chef provides a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare coverage, 401k match, and paid time off.
Illinois Pay Range
$150,000 - $165,000 USD
