The Home Construction Regulatory Authority (HCRA) is a not-for-profit corporation that is designated by the provincial government of Ontario to administer and enforce the New Home Construction Licensing Act, 2017 and associated regulations. HCRA holds licensed builders to professional standards, protects the public interest, and enhances consumer confidence in the homebuilding industry in Ontario. In addition, HCRA strives to educate consumers to ensure that they can make informed decisions and understand the benefits of a regulated homebuilding sector. As one of Ontario’s newest regulators, HCRA is dedicated to providing the highest level of service to everyone they serve.

Be a Voice for Consumer Protection in the Home Building Industry!
Are you a chief building official or home inspector (retired or active) passionate about consumer protection and interested in making a difference in the new home building industry? Join the Home Construction Regulatory Authority’s (HCRA) Consumer Advisory Council (CAC)!
Your Role and Impact:
As a member of the CAC, you will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with the HCRA, consumer advocates, and experienced professionals. Reporting to the HCRA’s Board of Directors, CAC members provide valuable advice and insights on emerging issues in the new home construction sector and contribute to the HCRA’s innovative approach to enhancing consumer protection in Ontario.
What's in it for you:

- Up to six (6) meetings per year to share your insights and ideas.
- While this is a volunteer position, the HCRA offers renumeration for each meeting.

The personal information you provide is being collected as authorised by the terms of the New Home Construction Licensing Act, 2017 (“NHCLA”) and the Administrative Agreement between the Home Construction Regulatory Authority (“HCRA”) the Minister of Government and Consumer Services (now Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement). The Access and Privacy Code under this Agreement governs the collection, use, disclosure, and retention of this information by the HCRA.
The information will be used to determine your qualifications for employment with the HCRA and is necessary to the HCRA’s administration of the NHCLA.
