Who You Are
You're a Product Analyst who thrives at the intersection of technical analytics and business partnership. When a Product Manager or Marketing leader comes to you with a question, you dig deeper to understand what they're really trying to solve, then build the dashboard or execute the analysis that completely addresses their need.
You'll work embedded with HomeLight's Consumer Product and Marketing teams as part of our Business Intelligence team. Your stakeholders will rely on you to translate their business questions into data insights, build dashboards that they actually use, and help them make confident decisions backed by data.
This role requires both technical chops (writing SQL to extract and analyze data) and business acumen (understanding what questions to ask and how to frame your findings). If you're looking to develop both your analytical skills and your ability to drive business impact, this is the role for you.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with stakeholders to understand their analytical needs - Work directly with Consumer Product and Marketing teams to translate business questions into data solutions and analysis, ensuring you understand the real problem they're trying to solve
- Conduct ad hoc analysis - Respond to data requests by writing SQL queries to extract, analyze, and synthesize data. One day you might be analyzing website conversion metrics, another day you might be investigating operational issues to identify root causes
- Define and monitor key metrics - Identify and track the metrics that matter most for Consumer Product and Marketing performance, proactively flagging trends and anomalies
- Deliver insights that drive action - Use data analysis to identify meaningful patterns, translate them into clear recommendations, and communicate your findings in ways that non-technical stakeholders can understand and act on
- Build and maintain dashboards that drive decisions - Create dashboards, reports, and analytical tools that stakeholders actually use to monitor performance and make confident business decisions
What You Bring
- BA/BS degree in a quantitative field – Analytics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a business intelligence, data analyst, or product analyst role
- Intermediate SQL including joins, CTEs, window functions, and complex aggregations. You're comfortable with intermediate SQL in order to extract data for analysis, but we don't expect analytics engineer-level expertise
- Experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into analytical solutions
- Strong communication and data visualization skills. You can tell the story behind the data and present insights in ways that drive stakeholder action
- Experience with business intelligence or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Sisense, or similar platforms)
- Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for data manipulation and analysis
