They have an “all-in” disposition towards work, understanding that we are a fast-paced, high-growth organization with evolving priorities. They exhibit humble leadership—the ability to drive initiatives forward while remaining excited about continuous learning and development opportunities. They feel strongly about being part of a team that advocates for people to live longer and better lives.

The Role

Hone is looking for a VP of Finance to join our growing team. This role will report to the COO and will build and scale the financial foundation of the business. You’ll be a key strategic partner to the executive team—owning core finance operations while elevating planning, decision support, and financial discipline across the business.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and enjoys both strategic thinking and tactical execution. You’ll be responsible for owning core financial operations while partnering closely with leaders across the company to drive informed decision-making, operational rigor, and sustainable growth.

Primary Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Lead company-wide FP&A: own forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, scenario modeling, and performance management cadence
  • Drive executive decision support: translate financial and operational signals into clear, actionable insights (growth efficiency, margin, cohort/unit economics, staffing, etc.)
  • Direct cash and capital planning: proactively manage runway, working capital, and key levers; support fundraising strategy and investor diligence as needed
  • Upgrade financial reporting: build the reporting package for leadership and the board (KPIs, dashboards, variance narratives, and operating metrics)
  • Oversee close and accounting partnership: ensure a reliable monthly close process and strong partnership with external accounting/tax/audit firms (and/or internal accounting resources as the org grows)
  • Build scalable processes and controls: improve policies, internal controls, and finance workflows to support growth (vendor contracts, expense management, approvals, revenue/COGS clarity, etc.)
  • Own finance systems and tooling roadmap: evaluate and implement systems that enable scale (planning tools, reporting automation, BI integrations, improved data hygiene)
  • Build and develop the finance function: hire and manage talent over time (or lead/coordinate contractors/outsourced partners initially), establishing high standards and a culture of accountability
  • Partner cross-functionally with different departments to ensure financial rigor is embedded in day-to-day decisions

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • 10-15 years of progressive finance experience, including meaningful time in high-growth, venture-backed environments
  • Experience operating as a senior finance leader (Senior Director/Head of Finance/VP Finance), with demonstrated ability to own planning and performance management end-to-end
  • Strong strategic finance and analytical skillset, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and KPI design in a growth business
  • Demonstrated ability to build scalable processes (forecast/close cadence, controls, reporting, tooling) in resource-constrained environments
  • Comfortable working hands-on - able to roll up sleeves while also setting direction and influencing executives
  • Strong communication and executive presence; able to align stakeholders and drive decisions with clarity and tact
  • Experience partnering with external providers (accounting, tax, payroll, audit) and navigating compliance and risk thoughtfully
  • Track record of managing ambiguity, prioritizing ruthlessly, and delivering outcomes in a dynamic environment
  • Experience in subscription, DTC, marketplace, or healthcare services businesses where unit economics and retention matter (strongly preferred)

Compensation Range

$200,000 – $300,000 (depending on experience, skills, and market factors)

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
