Little more about the team:

We build the Honeycomb for Frontend Observability (HFO) product, bringing the power of observability beyond backend systems. We leverage OpenTelemetry and have built SDKs for web, Android, Swift, and soon React Native. Our team also delivers UIs that help frontend developers surface familiar insights like Core Web Vitals. We’ve defined core mobile vitals to help all client-side developers detect and act on performance signals in a consistent, repeatable way.

When you join this team you’ll be joining a fun group of extremely talented engineers. You will help drive roadmap work like greenfield UI components, instrumentation for web and mobile platforms, and end-to-end error management from ingestion through UI.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Contribute to a greenfield UI project including a new visualization for session data
  • Build and maintain instrumentation libraries for web and mobile (Javascript, Android, Swift, React Native)
  • Write code across the full application stack, primarily in React, TypeScript, and Golang
  • Contribute to OpenTelemetry instrumentation for web and mobile
  • Pair, review code, and support teammates through mentoring and feedback
  • Operate in a fast-moving team that balances delivery with long-term technical quality
  • Participate in OSS discussions and working groups over time

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Deep experience in frontend development with modern web frameworks (examples: React, Next.js)
  • Comfort with writing quality code and curiosity about writing instrumentation
  • A flexible growth mindset — you know when to polish and when to experiment
  • Clear, open communication — we value feedback as a core engineering skill
  • A strong sense of teamwork and experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Interest in contributing to OpenTelemetry
  • Bonus: Experience in Golang, Flutter, open source contributions, mobile development

Base Salary based on level of experience

$160,000 - $180,000 USD
