Global VP, Human Resources

We are looking for an exceptional HR leader and Operator

As Global VP of Human Resources at Honeycomb, you will own the people function end to end across the U.S. and Israel, reporting to the COO and partnering closely with global leadership. You will help set HR strategy, shape policy, raise the bar on talent, and protect a strong, high-performing culture as we scale.

We are an AI-driven insurance company, and our people are the foundation of our success. We have built an authentic hive culture grounded in ownership, innovation, flexibility, teamwork, a sense of urgency, and a work-hard, play-hard mindset.

How We Work

This role reports to an operator, and we want an operator to fill it. A few things to know about how we run:

  • We stay close to the work. The strongest leaders here are in the details, not above them. You will build and run programs, not just advise on them.
  • We are direct. Feedback is candid, early, and delivered to the person it concerns, never through side channels. We value the people who do the work over the people who manage perceptions, and we have no appetite for politics or posturing.
  • We move with urgency and own outcomes. We measure impact, not activity, and we make decisions with data and a bias for action.
  • We are AI-native. We expect every leader, HR included, to use AI personally and aggressively to do more with a lean team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and execute HR strategy across the U.S. and Israel in direct support of the company's growth and business goals.
  • Embed AI across the HR function, using AI tools personally and building AI-augmented workflows for recruiting, onboarding, performance, and people analytics so a lean team operates with outsized leverage.
  • Lead recruitment end to end, from talent acquisition through onboarding, delivering a top-tier candidate and employee experience.
  • Drive a high-performing global work environment through employee engagement, professional development, and retention.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the COO and senior leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Lead compensation, benefits, and performance management to keep our practices competitive, equitable, and clear.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with local and global labor laws and a fair, inclusive workplace.
  • Design training and development programs that support career growth and continuous learning.
  • Own the HR tech stack, implementing and optimizing the HRIS and supporting systems to drive efficiency and data-driven decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with all Israeli and U.S. employment laws and regulations.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience as a senior HR leader in a high-growth tech company or startup environment.
  • Hands-on AI fluency You already use AI daily in your own work and have used it to redesign or accelerate HR workflows. You are eager to push this further, not cautious about it.
  • Deep understanding of HR best practices, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and organizational development.
  • An operator's mindset You align HR initiatives with business objectives, drive measurable impact, and are comfortable building from scratch.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing HR teams.
  • Exceptional communication with the ability to influence and collaborate directly across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in a US-Israeli company Managing cross-border HR challenges and working with both U.S. and Israeli leadership and teams.
  • Knowledge of U.S. labor laws and employment regulations
  • Proficiency in HRIS and HR technologies Rippling experience is a major advantage. Lead the efforts to support data-driven decision-making.
  • A BA in Human Resources or a related field is required. An MA or MBA is an advantage.

Personal Traits

  • Operator – You love getting things done. Build and run programs, and own the outcome.
  • AI-native – You use AI personally to multiply a lean team's impact and drive your team to find use cases for automation regularly.
  • Direct and low-ego – You say the hard thing early, in a respectful manner, and to the right person. You play the work, not the politics.
  • Strategic thinker – You align HR with business goals for long-term growth.
  • People-centric – You build a positive, engaging, high-performing culture with a “can-do” mentality.
  • Data-driven – You use analytics for informed people decisions.
  • Structured – You are strong in process design and implementation.
  • Culturally aware – You know how to lead diverse, international teams, understand cultural gaps, and help bridge them.

Of Note: This role is Hybrid out of our Chicago Office at 141 W. Jackson Blvd 3x weekly (usually Tuesday - Thursday).

Benefits

  • ISO stock options
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents
  • HSA with company contributions
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Flexible time off
