Job Summary:
The Operations Supervisor will provide a high level of leadership to ensure customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Operations Supervisor does this by leading a culture of continuous improvement to achieve plant goals in their assigned area. The Operations Supervisor is also responsible for training, developing, and coaching employee has to meet goals and objectives. The Operations Supervisor completes these functions in the support HP Hood’s operations and the manufacturing of dairy and non-dairy related beverages.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership necessary for achieving plant and corporate goals in the area of Production, Safety, Quality, Employee Relations, Performance, and Cost for their assigned shift.
- Responsible for the successful attainment of production objectives, execution of policies, and most effective utilization of available resources on their assigned shift.
- Supports employees by coaching, mentoring and assisting in resolving mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity, job capabilities, and equipment capabilities.
- Responsible for leading a culture of continuous improvement in all areas while balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results.
- Responsible for the enforcement of GMP’s and ensures strict adherence to Corporate and/or Plant Policies, rules, and regulations on their assigned shift and administers coaching and corrective action as necessary.
- Responsible for validating the proper training and development of employees and ensuring that they comply with all SOP’s on their assigned shift.
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing, safety, and working conditions on their assigned shift.
- Responsible for reporting food safety problems and initiating action and for supporting SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality by managing job tasks and ensuring work areas are sanitary and that biosecurity measures are administered on their assigned shift.
- Establish and maintain a positive work environment including but not limited to maintaining the open door program and resolving simple to moderate workplace concerns.
- Ensures effective communication between shifts and other departments.
- Interviews and hires for assigned areas of responsibility and provides employee coaching, corrective action, development plans and resolves employee issues.
- Responsible for employee scheduling on their assigned shift and ensures that proper labor scheduling is utilized to meet budgeted and forecasted objectives.
- Ensure Safety Compliance and Accident Investigated are conducted and retrains are issued in timely manner.
Essential Knowledge, Skills:
- Ability to apply basic to complex mathematical concepts such as adding, counting, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and knowledge of weights and measure, to sufficiently handle job tasks.
- Understand and respond appropriately to basic to complex employee, vendor, and customer inquiries.
- Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (Other preferences will be given for special language skills when there is a business need).
- Knowledge of company's mission, purpose, goals and your role in achieving each of them.
- Ability to operate facility equipment as required in assigned area.
- Satisfactorily complete all company training requirements.
- Ability to interpret company documents and literature and UPC/code information.
Performance Standards:
- Responsible for reporting to work at scheduled times and communicating tardiness and absences with the assigned Supervisor/Manager prior to the occurrence.
- Responsible for reporting to work in a condition to work.
- Responsible for being well-groomed and dressed in a business-and position-appropriate attire at all times including ensuring compliance with GMP dress code standards.
- Comply with performance criteria, standards of conduct as contained in company policy, employment procedures and responsibilities as described in the company handbook.
- Maintain a safe work environment at all times and immediately report and take appropriate action to correct a safety concern.
- Responsible for completing all assigned tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Work Schedule:
- 4pm - 4am
Environmental Concerns:
- Normally protected from weather and temperature changes possible exposure to hot cold wet, humid or windy weather conditions does exist.
- May be subject to exposure to ingredients used in the manufacture of food products including allergens
- May be subject to exposure to chemicals involved in the manufacture and sanitation of a food processing facility.
Physical Job Requirements:
- Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility including but not limited to office, production, and warehouse environments. Including the outside perimeter of the building.
- Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions.
- Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break.
- Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and move objects exceeding 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations.
- Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions.
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location.
The pay range for this position is
$67,600 - $80,000 USD
