Job Summary:

The DSD Sales Representative is responsible managing the direct store delivery of food and beverage products to retail accounts.  This includes building relationships with customers, ensuring product availability, driving sales growth, managing inventory levels, and executing promotional activities at grocery stores, supermarkets, convenience stores, and other food & beverage outlets. The role requires strong customer service skills, an understanding of the market and product category, and a proactive approach to sales and problem-solving. Territory includes Southern New Hampshire, Concord, NH, Manchester, NH.  Ideal candidate will reside in a state drivable to the territory. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Sales & Revenue Generation:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with retail partners, including supermarkets, convenience stores, and other food and beverage outlets.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets through effective account management, upselling, and cross-selling of products.
  • Promote new product launches and special offers, ensuring products are stocked and well-displayed in the retail locations.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, identifying opportunities for growth in existing accounts.
  • Manage and drive execution of in-store promotions and marketing materials to increase product visibility and sales.

Product Knowledge & Inventory Management:

  • Provide detailed knowledge about our food and beverage products to retailers and customers, ensuring they understand the value proposition of each product.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to retail locations, maintaining proper stock levels and avoiding stockouts.
  • Manage inventory by ensuring products are rotated, shelves are stocked properly, and products nearing expiration are removed.

Customer Service & Relationship Building:

  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any concerns, resolving complaints, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction.
  • Offer product training and information to retail staff to enhance product knowledge and sales effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling or upselling products based on customer needs.
  • Foster strong, long-term relationships with key retail clients to ensure loyalty and continued business.

Sales Reporting & Market Analysis:

  • Track and report sales performance against targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Submit timely and accurate reports on sales activities, customer interactions, and any issues encountered.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor products, and industry developments to effectively position the company’s products.
  • Regularly assess customer needs and competitor offerings to identify sales opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales transactions, customer interactions, and deliveries.

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS Degree in business or a related field, preferred.
  • 3-5 years of sales experience or retail experience with a consumer package goods manufacturer, major food broker, or retail services company desirable but not required.
  • Familiarity with retail industry trends and consumer behavior.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with CRM and merchandising software. (i.e. Nielsen, IRI etc.)

  • Delivers clear, tailored messages to internal teams and customers while using probing techniques to uncover needs.
  • Maintains integrity in all interactions and fosters trust through honesty, humility, and emotional intelligence.

Other:

  • Ability to lift and carry products, boxes, and promotional materials as needed (up to 30-50 lbs).
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during store visits.
  • Regular travel to assigned retail locations within the territory is required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location.

The pay range for this position is

$67,000 - $80,000 USD
