ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a mission-driven Senior Manager of Analytics Engineering to join our team. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in building out Hopscotch Primary Care’s data and analytics platform and leading the data engineering team. This role will be a key part of the engineering team, reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering. You will have an opportunity to own end-to-end execution of data products and initiatives that directly impact the care delivery process working closely with analytics, product management and stakeholders across the business. You will be part of a skilled, passionate, and collaborative team committed to working together to realize Hopscotch Primary Care’s ambitious and important vision.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Near-term focus areas for this role will include, but are not limited to:
- Leadership to accelerate data product effectiveness for the business
- Shape and articulate the analytics engineering vision, OKRs, and roadmap aligned with organizational priorities
- Mentor & lead analytics engineers and data analysts
- Foster a culture of data excellence, self-service, and continuous improvement
- Data Modeling & Architecture
- Own & refine the data model architecture and ontology
- Standardize data architecture to enable robust metrics governance and trusted insights
- Build and maintain data infrastructure & pipelines for self-service analytics & workflows
- Analytics & Insights
- Generate analytic insights and backend KPIs
- Develop data products that provide visibility into company performance and critical goals
- Data Governance & Quality
- Define and uphold best practices in data modeling, testing, version control, and documentation
- Support integration of new data sources and systems
- Implement data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and compliance
- Champion initiatives around data security, HIPAA compliance, and quality assurance
- Partner effectively across internal business functions and vendors.
- Scope and document key stakeholder requirements to continually improve the design of data products across the company
- Collaborate with analytics & product teams to design data infrastructure for organizational workflows and analytics
- Design and ensure bi-directional vendor data exchange protocols with vendor platforms, timely synchronization, conflict resolution, and consistency across systems.
- Lead efforts to ensure interoperability of our data systems with external vendors, partners, and healthcare platforms
ABOUT YOU:
You would be a great fit for this position if you have 5+ years of experience in data & analytics engineering, preferably in healthcare services, and you are:
- Knowledgeable about healthcare, preferably in the services/provider sector
- Results-driven and focus time/resources against the most important priorities
- Strong problem-solving skills paired with creativity in finding solutions to arrive at optimal outcomes
- Willing and able to be hands-on-keyboard to deliver on solutions and initiatives
- Strategic and can bring a structured, proactive approach to get things done
- Can quickly develop insights from data, and translate findings into action
- Demonstrate first-principles approach to understanding and solving new problems
- Can translate complex concepts, verbally and in writing, and use synthesized communications to collaborate across an organization

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience shipping production level code and pipelines for data purposes \
- Familiarity with healthcare data sources, interfaces and software including EHR, population health tools, patient portals, and clinical decision support technology
- Understanding of healthcare operations and clinical workflows to enable anticipating end user needs and requirements
- Comfortable writing clear, testable python code, with pyspark experience preferred
- Experience with tools to build re-usable, testable, and maintainable data models
- Experience with data lake solutions such Palantir Foundry, Databricks, ect.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS) and working with serverless computing services (e.g. Lambda)
- Degree from a 4 year institution or above; experience in healthcare technology is a strong plus
- Ability to travel as business needs require (~10%)
In accordance with the Illinois Pay Transparency Act, we’re providing the full salary range for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, relevant experience and qualifications. Most offers will fall within a portion of the listed range. This position has a salary range of $131,000 – $197,000 annually, based on location, relevant experience and qualifications. In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
