Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster II
Horace Mann is looking for a Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster II to join our team. This role focuses on verifying coverage, investigating, evaluating, and resolving Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and Medical Payments (MedPay) claims with a strong preference for candidates experienced in Michigan No-Fault/PIP claims. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, detail oriented and bring technical expertise, investigative skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service while managing a caseload efficiently and in compliance with state regulations.
What You’ll Do
As a Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster II, you’ll:

Investigate & Resolve: Manage PIP and MedPay claims from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and fairness.

Analyze Evidence: Review and interpret medical records, bills, accident reports, and legal documents to determine coverage and compensability.

Apply Expertise: Utilize knowledge of No-Fault/PIP laws, rules, and regulations to deliver sound claim outcomes.

Operate with Confidence: Navigate state regulations while working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Communicate Transparently: Provide timely and clear updates to all parties throughout the claims process.

Evaluate Thoroughly: Assess accident facts, injuries, and medical bills for causation and appropriate resolution.

Gain Litigation Exposure: Handle incidents involving litigation with guidance from leaders or peers.

Work Independently: Leverage advanced claims knowledge to manage your own inventory and make sound decisions.

Own the Experience: Drive seamless service with attention to detail and accountability.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring both technical knowledge and a customer-first mindset. Requirements include:

Experience: 3–5 years of bodily injury claims handling required; PIP/MedPay and Michigan No-Fault experience strongly preferred.

Education: High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Licensing: Must maintain state-mandated adjuster licensure.

Skills: Strong communication (written and verbal), leadership, and conflict resolution abilities.

Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage a caseload independently while delivering excellent service.
Pay Range:
- $53,200.00 - $78,550.00/annually plus bonus.
Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.
