VP Life & Retirement Product

The Vice President, Life & Retirement (L&R) Product leads the strategic development, enhancement, and execution of the L&R product portfolio. This role is responsible for driving a comprehensive product strategy roadmap that delivers multi-year profit and growth objectives while ensuring all products meet market expectations and adhere to regulatory requirements. The VP oversees the creation and management of product specifications for both new and existing offerings and plays a central role in organizational strategy execution.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and delivery of the L&R product strategy roadmap to achieve long-term profit and growth targets.

Oversee the development, maintenance, and enhancement of product specifications for all new and existing life and retirement products.

Ensure product offerings align with competitive market trends, customer needs, and regulatory standards.

Direct research initiatives, including comprehensive market benchmarking, to inform product design, positioning, and competitiveness.

Guide insights that enhance new product development and strengthen the positioning of existing products.

Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality completion of product operational activities—including regulatory filings, compliance reviews, prospectus development, and related documentation.

Partner with legal, compliance, and regulatory affairs to evaluate and prepare for legislative or regulatory changes.

Work collaboratively with L&R leadership and key internal partners—Marketing, Distribution, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and others—to set sales objectives and support successful product execution.

Provide product subject-matter expertise and training support to internal teams.

Help promote product visibility and drive effective product line sales strategies across distribution channels.

Provide strong people leadership through mentoring, coaching, performance management, and development planning.

Foster a high-performing, collaborative team culture aligned with organizational values.

Support the effective implementation, integration, and execution of organizational strategic and tactical initiatives across the enterprise.

Qualifications
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree required.
-
Actuarial designation, MBA, and/or FINRA licensure preferred.
Experience
-
10+ years of experience in the insurance or financial services industry.

5+ years of management experience.

Expertise in life or retirement products; experience with both preferred.

Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, insurance product structures, and related actuarial concepts.

Experience with the 403(b)/tax-exempt market preferred.

Pay Range:
