Operations Audit Specialist
Horace Mann is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Operations Audit Specialist (Worksite Quality Auditor) to support operational excellence across multiple business areas. In this role, you will conduct quality audits within departments such as Claims, Customer Service, New Business, Underwriting, and Policy Services to ensure adherence to company procedures, identify opportunities for improvement, and support continuous operational enhancement.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, quality-focused, and committed to delivering meaningful insights that strengthen performance, accuracy, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Auditing & Compliance
- Conduct a designated number of daily quality audits for assigned departments.
- Perform ad hoc and special audits as requested by leadership.
- Ensure operational processes align with company standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Identify trends, process gaps, and areas for improvement through audit findings.
Reporting & Analysis
- Accurately record audit findings within Quality Audit databases and reporting systems.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to leadership regarding audit results and departmental performance.
- Support analysis of audit trends and recommend opportunities to improve operational quality and consistency.
Program Development & Process Improvement
- Assist in the development and enhancement of the Quality Audit Program across multiple business units.
- Support implementation of audit procedures for new products, services, and operational processes.
- Ensure audit methodologies remain aligned with evolving procedures, compliance requirements, and operational standards.
Collaboration & Support
- Work collaboratively across departments to support quality initiatives and operational improvements.
- Communicate effectively with leadership and business partners regarding findings and recommendations.
- Complete additional responsibilities and special assignments as needed.

Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in a Quality Audit, Operations, Compliance, or related role preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy, and consistency.
- Ability to adapt to changing business processes and operational needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
Technical Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Access.
- Comfortable working with databases, reporting systems, and technology tools to record and analyze audit results.

Pay Range:
- $21.44- $29.16/hr.
Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.
