In your role as a research technician at Horizon Surgical Systems, you will help plan and conduct experiments, perform data acquisition, write reports, and provide general laboratory support for research and development. You will also assist with data processing, organization, and review.

 

Required Qualifications and Abilities:

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree (with appropriate lab and research experience)
  • Technical Skills:
    • Good computer knowledge and skills.
    • Proficiency in working with Linux and/or Windows OS.
    • Ability to write thorough lab reports.
    • Can use standard laboratory equipment safely and effectively.
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of laboratory experience (including undergraduate work).
    • Clinical/research experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of laboratory techniques and research protocols.
    • Basic understanding of aseptic techniques.
    • Basic knowledge of ophthalmology is a bonus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
    • Good communication skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, clinicians, and project managers.
    • Ability to find patterns between complicated data, then organize and present that data.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Plan and perform experiments both collaboratively and independently.
    • Execute and analyze the results of test protocols.
    • Produce formal written reports of experiments and tests.
    • Conduct research with cross-functional teams.
    • Organize and maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment.

 

Role most likely to begin as part time consultant and shift to full time after onboarding period. 

Compensation range at $20-$30/hr.
