Horizon Surgical Systems is an innovative medical device startup developing the first ever robotic system to perform cataract surgery. We are entering an exciting growth phase as we transition from R&D to pilot-scale manufacturing and prepare for clinical and regulatory milestones.

We are seeking a highly motivated Material Lead to organize, lead, and operate: purchasing, receiving, warehousing, and stock management.

Required Qualifications

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor's degree a plus but not required.
  • Business Skills:
    • Professional skills working with suppliers including pricing, placing purchase orders and confirming delivery dates. 
    • Maintaining professional relationships with suppliers at all times. 
    • Good with spreadsheets and MRP systems
    • Desire to learn new business systems and operate them
    • Knowledge or experience in Medical Devices. 
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong communication skills to collaborate with multiple teams.
    • Self-motivated; Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Experience and Requirements:
    • 1-5 years Hands-on experience in materials planning, buying, receiving, warehousing, kitting and work order issue and closure 
    • Lead time checking and tracking purchase orders. 
    • Receiving and kitting process knowledge of workflows 
    • Warehouse management and Ability to keep stock accurately such as cycle counts. 
    • Releasing and tracking work orders for builds and outside processing such as paint.
    • Warehouse management inc. cycle counting. 
    • Other related skills. 
  • Other Requirements
    • Willingness to work on-site 5 days per week in primarily Santa Monica but sometime in Malibu, CA.

Responsibilities and Requirement Clarification:

  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to all aspects of materials:
    • Receiving / Warehousing / Kitting
    • Raw Materials, FGI and Sub assy Inventories management
    • Purchasing
  • Organize, lead and operate materials including but not limited to, purchasing, receiving and warehousing  
  • Perform lead time checks and tracking purchase orders. 
  • Receiving process to stock with some support. 
  • Lead efforts to keep stock accurate such as cycle counts. 
  • With Manf lead Releasing work orders for builds and outside processing such as paint.
  • Warehouse management inc. cycle counting. 
  • Other related duties not listed 
  • At all times Collaborate with team members to optimize the system and the development process.
