THE JOB
Are you passionate about creating stunning, photorealistic lighting and immersive visual experiences? Join us for our next big journey as we push the boundaries of visual quality in gaming!
We are looking for a Senior Technical Lighting Artist with exceptional sensibility for creating impactful visual content for our future projects. You get to work and collaborate with multiple teams such as Tech Art, Environment Art, VFX, Narrative, Level Design and Graphics Tech in elevating the visual quality and enhancing the mood of our games.
What will your day-to-day look like?
- Research & development of lighting technologies, using an “experimental laboratory” mentality
- Creating real-time shaders and lighting effects for use with different lighting scenarios
- Bridging the gap between Tech art, Level art, VFX and Lighting by designing, creating and innovating on next-generation visuals
- Implementing lighting for all game content according to art direction & provided performance guidelines
- Contributing to the development and documentation of lighting tools & pipelines
- Collaborating with multiple teams to solve complex visual challenges
- Providing realistic content delivery estimations using the given production framework
What will help you to be successful in this role?
- Proven record (Games/Films/Art) in photorealistic lighting
- Relevant art education and/or familiarity with classical art
- Understanding of lighting fundamentals, color theory & contrast ratios
- Understanding of lighting technologies and tools - baked, realtime, GI, exposure, performance
- Extensive understanding of the real-time rendering pipeline, with the ability to identify improvement opportunities and collaborate effectively with graphics programmers to implement them
- Experience with Unreal Engine, Blueprints/scripting, GLSL, HLSL
- A growth-mindset
We also value:
- Experience in cinematography and/or photography
- Track record in shipping AAA-games as a Lighting Artist
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks
