The Job

This is an opportunity to help shape the future of Housemarque, the award-winning PlayStation studio behind Returnal and SAROS.

We’re looking for an experienced development and project management leader to drive the planning, execution and continuous improvement of a large-scale console game project.

Working in close partnership with Product, Creative and Game leadership, you’ll lead the project management discipline across the project; bringing together scope, resources, budget, risk and development planning to create a clear path towards our goals.

This is a highly collaborative leadership role with significant influence across the project and studio. You’ll bring clarity to complex development challenges, strengthen how we plan and work at scale, and ensure our teams have the structures and processes they need to do their best work.

What you will do

  • Lead project management across a large-scale console game project, driving planning and execution against key milestones and deliverables.
  • Partner with Product, Creative and Game leadership to turn project goals and priorities into clear, achievable development plans.

  • Lead project-wide scope, capacity and resource planning, balancing ambition, available resources, timelines and budget.

  • Establish effective risk management practices, identifying high-impact risks early and driving solutions alongside project leadership.

  • Develop and continuously improve workflows, processes and organisational structures that enable teams to collaborate and deliver effectively at scale.

  • Own project-level budgeting and forecasting, and represent the project in broader studio resource and capacity planning.

  • Coordinate complex development dependencies across internal teams, external partners and co-development studios.

  • Provide clear visibility into project health, priorities, risks and trade-offs to studio leadership and key stakeholders.

Who you are

  • You have significant experience leading production, development management or project management for large-scale, AAA, Console / PC game development.

  • You have experience guiding complex game projects through multiple stages of development, ideally through to launch.

  • You bring strong project management expertise and are comfortable managing complex schedules, budgets, resources and dependencies across large multidisciplinary teams.

  • You understand how to manage scope effectively, balancing creative ambition with production realities and enabling informed decision-making.

  • You are confident in identifying and managing project risk, bringing structure and sound judgement to complex or ambiguous development challenges.

  • You are an excellent communicator who can build trust, influence senior stakeholders and create alignment across creative, technical, product and production disciplines.

  • You are comfortable operating at scale, including working with distributed teams, co-development partners, outsourcing or external vendors.

  • You have a continuous improvement mindset and know how to introduce structure and evolve processes without creating unnecessary overhead.

Bonus points

  • Experience coordinating development across multiple studios or international teams.

  • Experience establishing or significantly evolving production processes within a growing or changing studio.

  • Experience with portfolio-level capacity planning, resource management or production forecasting.
