Strategy & Planning Manager

Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands

We’re on a mission to become the go-to destination for students across Europe to find a trusted home away from home. We make every step of the rental journey simple and seamless, so students can focus on what really matters: studying, exploring, and growing.

With HousingAnywhere, Kamernet, and Studapart under our roof, we’re Europe’s largest student rental platform. You’ll find us in Rotterdam, Paris, and Cergy, always guided by our four core values: Ownership, We are enablers, We are changemakers, and We are connectors.

Your role

We are looking for a Strategy & Planning Manager to help shape our strategic agenda and support high-impact business decisions. As our multi-brand marketplace scales, we are tackling complex, high-stakes challenges, ranging from pricing strategy to international city expansion and the One Platform integration.

In this role, your mandate is to bring structure to ambiguity and the "so-what" to the evidence. This is not an advisory role just focused on producing decks; you will be driving actual decisions, building the go/no-go business cases for strategic bets, and running the planning cycles for our Executive Leadership Team.

If you excel at taking complex marketplace dynamics and translating them into clear commercial strategies and operational playbooks, this is your sandbox.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic problem-solving. Frame the biggest open questions facing the group - monetization & pricing strategy, market/city strategy, the One Platform integration, and drive each to a recommendation the Director and exec team can act on.
  • Strategic projections. Size opportunities and build the go / no-go case for strategic bets - Insurance rollout, integration sequencing, new monetization levers - before they're committed.
  • Frameworks & playbooks. Own the design of the operating playbooks and the decision rules behind them, optimizing for profitable growth.
  • Strategic Planning. Support the Executive Leadership Team on monthly, quarterly and annual operating and budget planning. Build the frameworks, growth projections and long-range plans that guide investment decisions across our products and markets.
  • Competitive & market intelligence. Own the synthesis and the strategic implication of what competitors and the market are doing - turning scattered signals into a point of view that informs the agenda.

Your team

You will join the Strategy & Ops department, which bridges the gap between high-level strategy and on-the-ground execution at HousingAnywhere Group. The department includes the Analytics team and two Program Managers, all of whom collaborate closely with the rest of the business. You will join as a Senior Individual Contributor, reporting directly to the Director of Strategy & Operations.

Your profile

Required Experience

  • 4-6 years' experience, with a strong base in management consulting or a strategy/BizOps function inside a tech company - marketplace or platform business strongly preferred. This is the structured-problem-solving foundation the role runs on.
  • Demonstrated ownership of strategy and planning cycles — annual operating plans, OKR/target-setting, or quarterly planning - not just contributing analysis into someone else's process, but running the process and owning the output.
  • Strong structured problem-solving: can take an ambiguous, high-stakes question and turn it into a clear, defensible recommendation. Evidence of driving a decision, not just producing a deck.
  • Strong commercial and quantitative judgment: fluent reading, interrogating, and pressure-testing analysis and models - without needing to build them. Comfortable with unit economics, funnel/conversion metrics, and take-rate mechanics.
  • Excellent written synthesis in English - the recommendation is only as strong as how clearly it lands with an exec audience.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience setting or restructuring pricing - pricing strategy, monetization, take-rate or fee-structure design. Ties directly to the monetization/take-rate scope, so a real differentiator rather than a nice-to-have.
  • Exposure to M&A integration or post-merger integration — relevant to the One Platform work.
  • Familiarity with two-sided marketplace dynamics (supply/demand balance, liquidity, host/guest or landlord/tenant economics).
  • Additional European language useful given the DE/IT/ES/FR/NL footprint, but not required.

What’s in it for you

  • Unlimited paid holidays, minimum-based not maximum!
  • Position based in our Rotterdam office with hybrid working policy (2 office days).
  • Flexibility to work remotely for up to 2 months per year!
  • 1,000 EUR personal development budget.

  • Gym membership discount with GoVital or OneFit.
