Position Description
The Risk & Quant Strats team is seeking an individual skilled in accounting, quantitative analysis, and fundamental credit knowledge for a newly created role in the quant credit area. The Associate-level position would assist the RQS Managing Director in running a suite of financial spreading and credit risk reporting tools, with an initial focus on the HPS Direct Lending business. As a result, the seat would receive significant visibility within the firm. The primary focus of the role would be pro forma financial modeling for deal analysis, both as such analysis relates to originations activity as well as to building out higher frequency quant credit risk monitoring capabilities. A secondary focus would be geared towards risk reporting and monitoring. Finally, the scope of the role includes the potential to make and apply novel research contributions on the drivers of risk and return in private and public credit markets, as well as the potential for involvement with the Investment Grade Private Credit business.
The successful candidate for the role will possess a B.S. or masters degree in accounting, finance, or economics from a top-tier university, a solid understanding of private credit deals, and a good working knowledge of SQL and/or Python. Knowledge of leading commercial reduced-form and structural credit risk models is highly desirable, as is CFA charterholder status. Temperamentally, the successful candidate will be highly collaborative, conscientious, and execution-focused.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Risk reporting and monitoring
- Pro forma financial analysis and model development
- Contribution to the RQS financials spreading / QC system
- Research into drivers of risk and return in private and public credit strategies
Qualifications:
- B.S. or Masters in Accounting, Finance, or Economics from a top-tier university
- 3-6 years of relevant experience, preferably within the financial services or asset management industry
- Proficient in Python and/or SQL and Microsoft Office
- Knowledgeable of leading commercial credit risk models
- Highly collaborative and execution-focused / ownership and growth mindset
- CFA charterholder status is a plus

Rate of Pay
- The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000 but may vary based on various factors including job function, experience and geographic location. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
