About the Temp Senior Brand Designer at Headspace:

At Headspace, design is more than how we look. It's also how we resonate, inspire, and help people feel better every day. As a Temp Senior Brand Designer, you’ll help bring the Headspace brand to life across every touchpoint—from the tiniest product icon to full-scale marketing campaigns that reach millions.

You’ll work side-by-side with our Creative Directors, as well as a talented crew of copywriters, designers, illustrators, and animators. Together, you’ll shape visuals that make the beloved Headspace brand instantly recognizable and meaningful. You’ll also collaborate closely with our cross-functional partners—Product, Marketing, Content, and Studios—to ensure the Headspace personality is seamlessly woven into everything we create, from in-app programs to member emails to billboards and more.

If you’re passionate about crafting thoughtful, impactful design and want to help bring accessible mental health resources to members across the world, we need your mind.

Please note this is a 3-4 month temp position (40 hrs/week).

What you will do:

  • Be a key contributor to evolving our existing Brand and Visual Design Systems across various surfaces to support our growing Headspace Brand.
  • Simplify abstract concepts and complex ideas into visually stunning and playful designs
  • Work collaboratively with different stakeholders and teams to craft strategic brand experiences
  • Provide strong and thoughtful design ideation for B2B and D2C functions, partnering closely with our Lead Brand Designer and Creative Directors as well as Marketing, Product, Content, and Engineering teams. You will bring creative direction to life across these various channels and briefs, working with strategic planners.
  • Collaborate well with the illustrators and animators on the team, providing art direction and references, as well as learning from them
  • Exercise equally strong conceptual and execution skills, with a keen eye for effective typography, iconography, color, layout, art direction, and meaning. Those skills will be translated within the context of the Headspace brand to create intuitive, accessible, and compelling work.
  • Ideate strong concepts informed by research insights and design strategy, collaborating with senior team members to refine direction.
  • Present your ideas and collaborate with teammates to drive alignment with stakeholders.
  • Challenge and inform briefs with your own design and brand perspective and insights
  • You love feedback and encourage all creative work to be reviewed and discussed leading up to delivery, and are interested in the results afterwards.  You are always looking for opportunities to fine-tune the work to deliver on objectives.
  • You know your print specs from your digital specs and you’ll be able to design anything from digital banner rectangles to full-scale integrated campaign ooh placements.

What you will bring:

  • World-Class brand designer. You love designing. As a part of a world-class creative team, you’ll need the strong ability to steer design brand systems to be as impactful as possible, steering creative concepts, and producing high-quality and high-craft work consistently that keeps Headspace sticky in the world’s mind.
  • Complex design problem solver. In an ever-evolving and culturally relevant space like digital mental healthcare space, where AI products and their impact are being discussed every day, you’ll need to bring social awareness, mindfulness, and compassion that support both short-term and long-term brand/product evolution. You need the ability to adapt, respond and deliver tasteful design solutions quickly.

Privacy Statement

All member records are protected according to our Privacy Policy. Further, while employees of Headspace (formerly Ginger) cannot access Headspace products/services, they will be offered benefits according to the company's benefit plan. To ensure we are adhering to best practice and ethical guidelines in the field of mental health, we take care to avoid dual relationships. A dual relationship occurs when a mental health care provider has a second, significantly different relationship with their client in addition to the traditional client-therapist relationship—including, for example, a managerial relationship.

As such, Headspace requests that individuals who have received coaching or clinical services at Headspace wait until their care with Headspace is complete before applying for a position. If someone with a Headspace account is hired for a position, please note their account will be deactivated and they will not be able to use Headspace services for the duration of their employment.

Further, if Headspace cannot find a role that fails to resolve an ethical issue associated with a dual relationship, Headspace may need to take steps to ensure ethical obligations are being adhered to, including a delayed start date or a potential leave of absence. Such steps would be taken to protect both the former member, as well as any relevant individuals from their care team, from impairment, risk of exploitation, or harm.

For how how we will use the personal information you provide as part of the application process, please see: https://www.headspace.com/applicant-notice

US Custom Demographic Survey

In our company-wide effort to continue to prioritize diversity and inclusion, we invite candidates to respond to both the EEOC Voluntary Self-Identification survey as well as a custom self-identification survey as a part of the application process. The EEOC survey helps us remain compliant with government reporting requirements (full information and instructions below). We have also created custom self-identification demographic questions to expand upon specific categories, offering more inclusive options that more accurately reflect the diverse global workforce. While this survey is a required section of our application, your level of disclosure is completely voluntary. Participating also includes selecting “I don’t wish to answer” as your choice for any of the categories. This data helps us to better understand how our DEIB efforts are tracking across various measures. Aggregated personal data will be reported on and shared with the necessary stakeholders as needed.  This data will be scrubbed of all possible identifying information, is maintained in a confidential file and will not be considered in the hiring process.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

A "recently separated veteran" means any veteran during the three-year period beginning on the date of such veteran's discharge or release from active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval, or air service.

An "active duty wartime or campaign badge veteran" means a veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service during a war, or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized under the laws administered by the Department of Defense.

An "Armed forces service medal veteran" means a veteran who, while serving on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service, participated in a United States military operation for which an Armed Forces service medal was awarded pursuant to Executive Order 12985.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
