Job Description

This is a remote role. 

HSP Group is seeking a results-driven Sales Director, M&A to lead business development efforts targeting M&A-driven companies, private equity firms, and their portfolio companies. This strategic role is responsible for identifying and closing revenue opportunities related to global carve-outs, new market entries, and cross-border compliance and HR needs post-acquisition. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the M&A lifecycle and can position HSP’s global expansion management services as essential to deal with execution and Day 1 readiness. 

Responsibilities:

  • Drive new business through strategic outreach to private equity firms, M&A advisors, and acquisitive mid-market companies.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of global expansion opportunities tied to M&A activity.
  • Lead consultative sales cycles from discovery through close, collaborating closely with Solution Architects and service delivery teams.
  • Identify and influence key stakeholders including deal teams, legal counsel, CFOs, HR leaders, and portfolio operating partners.
  • Leverage deep understanding of deal structuring, post-merger integration, and compliance challenges to position HSP as a critical partner.
  • Develop account strategies to penetrate key private equity ecosystems and build long-term relationships.
  • Represent HSP at industry conferences, PE forums, and events to drive awareness and demand.
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing and partnerships to co-develop tailored campaigns and partner-led opportunities. 

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience selling global payroll, EOR, compliance, HR consulting, or expansion services.
  • Deep network within the private equity or investment banking ecosystem.
  • Experience in international business operations, legal entity setup, or cross-border compliance solutions. 

Requirements:

  • 8–12+ years of experience in B2B sales, with at least 3 years focused on private equity, corporate development, or global expansion-related services.
  • Proven track record of selling high-value, consultative solutions to executive-level stakeholders (CFO, CHRO, COO).
  • Familiarity with the M&A lifecycle, including carve-outs, international expansion, and post-deal compliance/integration needs.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to understand deal dynamics and business drivers.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills with the ability to tailor messaging to PE, portfolio company, and C-suite audiences.
  • Experience navigating complex sales cycles and coordinating cross-functional internal teams.
  • Self-starter with a growth mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
