Job description.

Huge is looking for a Group Director of Technology, AI to join the Technology team. The ideal candidate possesses a wide range of technical knowledge across multiple systems and solution types, with deep capabilities within AI/ML. They are skilled at quickly understanding problems and articulating recommendations that have an immediate impact. Someone who understands client business challenges and partners with clients and other disciplines at Huge to design transformative experiences and identify technology solutions to enable them. 

You will drive organic business development alongside account leadership, implementing Huge’s delivery methodologies based on Lean and Agile principles. Additionally, you will influence best practices and standards across the technology department, guiding and ensuring Huge remains at the forefront of emerging technologies like Generative AI, neural networks, and advanced data solutions. Additionally, this role requires a collaborative spirit, working closely with creative leads to shape innovative and impactful experiences.

What you’ll be doing.

  • Partner with clients to understand their technology needs, recommend AI/ML-driven solutions, and establish trusted relationships.
  • Develop and execute a technology strategy that aligns with business objectives and drives innovation. 
  • Oversee the assessment, planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Ensure the highest quality standards are maintained in technology development, including code reviews, testing, and performance optimization.
  • Identify and mitigate technology-related risks, ensuring security and compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and partners to leverage their expertise and resources.
  • Lead and inspire a team of talented technology professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence.
  • Foster technical client relationships and seek opportunities for organic growth on the accounts.
  • Partner with Huge cross-discipline account leadership to convert opportunities and support outbound business development activities.
  • Drive innovation within the Craft Community, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance our capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the craft community, nurturing talent and promoting a collaborative environment.
  • Represent the technology practice in crafting business cases, pitches, RFPs, and SOWs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, security protocols, and ethical AI practices.
  • Partner with technology vendors and partners to leverage their expertise and resources for AI/ML projects.
  • Lead conversations with senior client stakeholders, articulating technology strategies and AI capabilities in a non-technical, business-focused manner.
  • Oversee the development of end-to-end AI solutions, from data pipelines and preprocessing to model training, deployment, and integration.

What we’d like to see.

  • 12+ years of full-time professional software development experience
  • 3+ years of experience working on AI and ML-related projects
  • Ability to work under high levels of ambiguity to identify and evolve technology solutions.
  • Experience discussing delivery with client executives, clearly articulating your strategic approach to delivery in a non-technical manner, highlighting its differentiators and benefits from other approaches.
  • Ability to identify business development opportunities and grow accounts through strategic partnership and technology innovation.
  • Extensive experience in a leadership role within a technology organization, with a track record of high retention, employee satisfaction, and team professional growth.
  • Proven ability to foster relationships across disciplines and seniority levels, driving alignment and collaboration.
  • Strong experience managing global teams, including onshore, nearshore, and offshore resources.
  • Skilled at articulating complex technical concepts in a clear, strategic, and business-focused manner.
  • Able to manage multi-vendor solution deliveries, manage prioritization, and mitigate risks.
  • Ability to have difficult conversations.
  • Can own and craft technology stories in writing business cases, pitches or reviewing RFPs and SOWs.
  • Dedication to evolving the technology practice, developing materials, and creating content for and leading internal initiatives.
  • Have experience in a leadership role within a technology organization, with a track record of high retention, employee satisfaction, and team professional growth.
  • Experience in governing and scaling multidisciplinary software development lifecycles (SDLCs).
  • Should have some experience with digital marketing technology stacks and their associated components.
  • Experience with developing and executing an AI/ML technology strategy that aligns with business objectives and drives measurable outcomes.
  • Experience with architecting, planning, and execution of AI-driven technology projects, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery within scope and budget.
  • Experience in the AI/ML ecosystems operating at a Director level and above.
  • Experience with distributed Architecture, with deep exposure to API design & versioning, domain-driven design, event-driven systems, and microservices that serve both web and mobile frontends
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies, including frameworks, tools, and programming languages (e.g., Python, LangChain, OpenAI, Vertex AI, and vector databases).
  • Familiarity with advanced AI techniques, such as neural networks, Generative AI, and data-driven enterprise solutions.

This role is currently not available for hire or work in New Mexico, and Hawaii, USA.

The salary range for this position is as listed below. Exactly where a prospective employee will be paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, the actual salary ranges for current and former employees who are either currently filling a similar role or did in the past; the candidate’s depth of experience and qualifications; the level of specialization the role requires; budgetary considerations; the market demand for that role and the local market conditions that exist where the employee will be based. For current Huge employees, tenure will also be a consideration.
