Data Cloud Implementation Lead (Contract)
Location: This position is remote within the United States or Canada.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Salesforce Data Cloud Implementation Lead to oversee the successful deployment and integration of Salesforce Data Cloud (formerly Salesforce CDP). This freelance role involves leading the full implementation process, developing and executing strategy, and enabling unified customer profiles, real-time personalization, and actionable insights across all touchpoints.
You’ll work closely with our client to understand their current technology, marketing, and sales ecosystems and guide delivery as both a technical project lead and solution architect. This is a contract role that begins May 27, 2025 and ends August 29, 2025.
What you’ll be doing.

Lead end-to-end implementation of Salesforce Data Cloud, including architecture planning, data onboarding, identity resolution, and activation.

Translate business needs into scalable, secure, and high-performing Data Cloud solutions.

Design and build unified customer profiles using data from Salesforce and non-Salesforce platforms.

Oversee identity resolution using Data Cloud’s matching and reconciliation tools.

Configure calculated insights and derive KPIs from ingested data.

Optimize data ingestion pipelines with Streaming/Batch Connectors, Data Streams, and Bundles.

Collaborate with internal and client-side teams (CRM, marketing, analytics, data engineering) for alignment and accuracy.

Enable downstream activation in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Personalization, Sales Cloud, and other platforms.

Implement data governance and security in line with compliance standards.

Configure Data Model Objects (DMOs) for Customer 360 initiatives.

Define best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.

Lead QA, UAT, and go-live processes, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Deliver training, documentation, and enablement for users and technical stakeholders.

Track milestones, budgets, risks, and deliverables to drive successful implementation
What we’d like to see.

5+ years of experience with Salesforce platforms, including 1–2 years hands-on with Salesforce Data Cloud or CDPs.

2+ years of experience managing or leading technical teams.

Proven track record leading Data Cloud or complex data architecture implementations.

Strong grasp of data architecture, modeling, and integration methodologies.

Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Sales Cloud, and Experience Cloud.

Excellent stakeholder communication and project management skills.

Salesforce Data Cloud Accredited Professional certification (preferred).

Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including executive stakeholders.

Proven ability to develop scalable frameworks and creative solutions to marketing tech challenges.

Strong documentation and training material creation experience.

Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills

Hands-on experience with ETL tools, data lakes, and identity resolution techniques.

Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

Familiarity with Agile project management frameworks.
