Design Lead (Contract Hourly Position)
Location: This position is onsite and based in Austin, TX.
This specific role is for a client who is world renowned for crafting products and experiences that change the world. You will be serving as a lead Production Designer, helping Junior Designers through the production design process ; capturing screenshots, manipulating in Photoshop and building out in a proprietary prototyping tool. Designers must be able to work 40 hours per week onsite in our Austin office, from the beginning of July until the end of August.
What you’ll be doing.
- Finalize approved concepts, ensuring design adhere to Design Standards while effectively meeting different requirements
- Select and implement final imagery and iconography into pixel perfect design
- Add final red-line specifications and design standards
- Facilitate the handoff of designs to be implemented by Development and Engineering teams; participate in QA process
- Provide quality assurance on creative deliverables. Own an exceptional eye for pixel-perfect detail
- Provide oversight, guidance and coaching to production designers
What we’d like to see.
- Must know Photoshop, proficient in image manipulation using Photoshop
- Have a strong up-to-date portfolio of work showcasing excellence in visual design and an appreciation for interaction design (this is a must-have) that is impressive immediately
- Minimum of 3 years experience
- iPhone user, Apple Watch a bonus
- Ability to lead junior designers
- Strong team player to help check in with junior designers, provide candid feedback and support
- Ability to support light QA of images in collaboration with Production lead
- Ability to learn the proprietary WYSIWYG tool (client provides training)
- Collaborative problem solver
- Ability to capture screenshots on demo devices (provided by client) and stitch together in Photoshop
- Ability to upload images into client tool and identify hot spots
- Light coding knowledge a plus
- Can work on site in Austin, TX (office located in NW Austin, near The Domain) for the entire project duration
This role is currently not available for hire or work in New Mexico and Hawaii, USA.
