Job Description.

Huge is looking for a Director of Technology to join the global Technology team. Someone who understands client business challenges and partners with clients and other disciplines at Huge to design transformative experiences and identify technology solutions to enable them. This role will oversee comprehensive hospital and healthcare system redesign initiatives, requiring deep expertise in navigating workflows, operational complexities, and stakeholder alignment to drive clarity, vision, and measurable improvements across patient, provider, and organizational experiences

Required Strategic Experience: 

Epic Ecosystem Expert.

  • MyChart (Patient Portal): Extensive experience managing and optimizing MyChart, specifically focusing on the front-end, patient-facing version to ensure a seamless user experience.

  • Epic Provider Finder: Hands-on proficiency with Epic Provider Finder. You will be responsible for the integration and maintenance of this tool to help patients find and connect with clinicians via the web.

  • FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources): Proficiency with FHIR standards and experience working within the API.

CMS Architecture and Delivery. 

  • Proven, hands-on experience with Headless CMS architectures (e.g., Contentstack, Contentful, Optimizely SaaS, AEM EDS, etc.).

What You’ll Do.

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their technology needs, recommend solutions, and establish strong client relationships.

  • Develop and execute a technology strategy that aligns with business objectives and drives innovation. 

  • Oversee the assessment, planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.

  • Ensure the highest quality standards are maintained in technology development, including code reviews, testing, and performance optimization.

  • Identify and mitigate technology-related risks, ensuring security and compliance with industry standards.

  • Support relationships with technology vendors and partners to leverage their expertise and resources.

  • Foster technical client relationships and seeks opportunities for organic growth on the accounts.

  • Partner with Huge cross-discipline account leadership to convert opportunities and support outbound business development activities.

  • Drive innovation within the Engineering Craft Community, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance our capabilities.

  • Foster behavioral values of continuous learning and professional development within the Engineering craft community, nurturing talent and promoting a collaborative environment.

What we’d like to see. 

  • Ability to work under high levels of ambiguity to identify and evolve technology solutions.

  • Experience discussing delivery with client executives, clearly articulating your strategic approach to delivery in a non-technical manner, highlighting its differentiators and benefits from other approaches.

  • Experience with modern architectural patterns (e.g., Jamstack, MACH, etc) and enterprise platforms (e.g., CMSes, DAMs, CDNs, etc).

  • Experience managing technical and non-technical stakeholders and articulating complex concepts in a way that non-technical audiences can understand.

  • Experience managing multiple onshore and offshore teams, experience with globally distributed teams is nice to have.

  • An innate ability to foster relationships with all discipline partners at Huge regardless of seniority. 

  • Able to manage multi-vendor solution deliveries, manage prioritization, and mitigate risks.

  • Dedication to evolving the technology practice, developing materials and creating content for and leading internal initiatives.

  • Proven experience designing and implementing microservices architecture at scale, with particular expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure and Vercel)

  • Demonstrated success leading full-stack development teams across web and mobile platforms simultaneously

  • Track record of successfully orchestrating complex third-party API integrations while maintaining system coherence.

  • Proven ability to balance technical excellence with business priorities and translate business requirements into technical specifications.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience building, scaling, and mentoring engineering teams of 10+ developers

This role is currently not available for hire or work in New Mexico, and Hawaii, USA.

The salary range for this position is as listed below. Exactly where a prospective employee will be paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, the actual salary ranges for current and former employees who are either currently filling a similar role or did in the past; the candidate’s depth of experience and qualifications; the level of specialization the role requires; budgetary considerations; the market demand for that role and the local market conditions that exist where the employee will be based. For current Huge employees, tenure will also be a consideration.
